- A Secret Service agent on the trail of a gang of outlaws, enters a cattle community as a stranger, and rescues a young rancher from an ambush. A jealous woman who was rejected by the rancher, who was romancing another girl, had sent her henchmen out to kill him, however, the culprits are members of the same gang the agent was assigned to bring to justice.
- Two prospectors are partners in a gold claim, but are both in love with the same girl. One partner suggests that they play a game of cards, and the loser gives up the girl and the claim, but when he loses the game he decides to change the rules.
- Rose Silvers (Florence Gilbert) wanders into an outlaw's camp (Pinto Pete played by Ashton Dearholt) as an orphan after losing her father who was killed while gambling. She depends on Sheriff Blake for moral support, but she believes he cares for someone else. Even though Pinto Pete admires Rose, he gives Rose a horse to ride back into town. The peculiar way the horse is shod convinces the sheriff that Pete has been involved in several local crimes and he arrests Pete. The sheriff ends up marrying Rose.

- Posing as a ranch hand, Ed Jones attempts to discover the source of the enmity between the local cattle and sheep ranchers. He falls in love with Sally Warner, the daughter of the leading sheepman, and several times rescues her from the unwelcome attentions of Black Pete, an outlaw posing as a sheepman to cover his operations. The arrival of eastern ranch owner J. P. Hartley precipitates fights, a kidnapping, and danger to the principals; but in the end the outlaws are taken care of, and the feud is ended by the marriage of Sally and Ed, who is revealed to be Hartley's son.
