- Australian comedy about life with the Bullpitt family - irascible father Ted Bullpitt; mother Thelma; student son Craig; married daughter Greta, and her Italian husband Bruno.

- Ted takes over coaching Craig's basketball team and they start winning. When their star player breaks his led, Ted imports a ring-in to win the final match.
- Ted is angry when the pupils at the local Catholic school break off the aerial on the Kingswood. Bruno and Greta split up after they have an argument after she buys an expensive pair of shoes.
- Greta suspects that Bruno is having an affair and is determined to divorce him. Ted is delighted at the prospect of getting rid of Bruno. He hires Thelma's cousin Reg to follow Bruno and get the evidence that he is having an affair.
- After reading a notice in the newspaper, Ted contacts a solicitor about whether he is the sole heir of a Scottish laird called McBullpitt. To cover the solicitor's expenses, Ted has to come up with $5000, which is not an easy thing to do.
- Ted decides to paint the lounge room ceiling. He buys some paint and wins a prize of a free funeral and cemetery plot. However, the paint turns out to be red. A tin is spilt on his chair and so it needs repair. How can he pay for it?
- It is the AIF 2nd field kitchen's annual reunion and Ted is to provide the entertainment. He decides to become a comedian and tell jokes. However, Ted doesn't have a sense of humour.
- Ted has the surprising news that he is applying to become an executive, the sales manager at head officer. When he receives extra money in his pay he thinks that he has the job. It goes to Ted's head and he starts acting like an executive.
- It's Greta and Bruno's third wedding anniversary. Thelma gives them a toaster and Ted gives them a crow in a budgie cage. Ted has to have a medical for his insurance policy and he is upset when he finds out that the doctor is a woman.
- Bob is ecstatic when he finds out that he is no longer married to Merle. That is, until he realises that all their assets are in her name. Bob then sets out to woo her back and remarry her.
- Bob and Merle come around for dinner at Ted and Thelma's. They spend the time fighting and the next day they split up. Bob moves in with Ted and Thelma. So Thelma hatches a plan to get them back together.
- After Ted's Aunty Pearl dies, she leaves Ted and Bruno a piano. The problem is, how are they going to share it?
- Thelma has finally got her driving licence and so she decides to buy a car. It's ANZAC day and the reunion of the 2nd Field Kitchen is to be at the Bullpitt's home. But it doesn't go over quite as Ted expected.
- Ted finds out that his driving licence is two years out of date and that he has to resit the licence test. Craig and Wendy's flat caught fire and they move back in to the Bullpitt home.
- Ted is not happy when Thelma offers to billet teachers from the local school, especially when he finds out that the boarder is to be his nemesis Sister Maria.
- It's tax time and Ted finds himself being investigated by the tax office over some of his more dubious tax deductions. Ted then finds himself relying on Sister Maria from the local catholic school to get himself out of trouble.
- Thelma's cousin Reg is staying with Ted whilst he is in town looking for a woman to be his wife. To get rid of him as quickly as possible Ted decides to help things along.
- Thelma can't convince Ted to go to a masquerade ball and thinks Ted isn't interested in her any more. Thelma wants Ted to go to a marriage guidance counsellor but the problem is how to trick Ted into going.
- Craig was arrested for throwing a can of beer at an anti-uranium demonstration but he is proved innocent. Ted then gets the idea that the Bullpitt name has been defamed and goes to the police station to sort it out.
- Ted is having trouble sleeping so Rosa offers to change bedrooms with him. Then, when Craig hears Ted is taking Rosa out to dinner, all the children think they are having an affair.
- Ted enters a lone round-the-world yacht race. To raise the money Ted first has to sell the house.
- The Bullpitt home has a possum and the roof and Ted is determined to get rid of it. It's the Bullpitt family annual BBQ day and, predictably, the weather is wet. Bob comes up with some ill-fated schemes to get rid of the possum.
- Bob persuades Ted to go into the video hire business, with Ted being Captain Video and delivering the videos on a motor cycle. What Bob doesn't tell Ted is that they are blue movies, which causes problems with the police and Sister Maria.
- A man arrives from Brisbane claiming to be Ted's long-lost illegitimate son. Ted is confused as he has never been to Brisbane and it only becomes clear when Bob arrives for dinner.
- Ted and Thelma are away for a weekend holiday. Craig uses the opportunity to invite his girlfriend to stay overnight. Ted and Thelma return a day early and Thelma is upset with what she finds.
- Ted is on strike and money becomes tight. Bruno helps Ted get a job at Rose Hill racecourse, but the job is not quite what he expected. Thelma goes shopping and buys herself an engagement ring for their wedding anniversary.
- Thelma is elected to find all the entertainers at the local catholic church charity concert. Craig and Wendy offer to do a Swiss musical act. When Craig sprains his ankle, Ted is needed to fill in.
- When Ted's work reduces his hours he tosses in his job. Bob convinces him to go into partnership selling donuts. All they need is $15000 to start the business and buy a donut truck. They head off to the bank for a loan.
- When having a clear out, some of the rubbish includes Ted's old magic equipment. He was an escapologist known as Ted Bullpitt, the Human Eel. However, time has meant that Ted is no longer able to do the tricks like he used to.
- Ted has hurt his back and it's causing him some problems. Craig has a new girlfriend and decides to leave home and move in with her.
- The Bullpitt house is broken into but nothing seems to have been stolen. Thelma decides that Craig must have started sleep walking again. Ted comes up with a plan to catch Craig sleep walking.
- Bob has decided to sell his car yard so he can go into oyster farming. To impress the potential buyer, Ted and Greta fill in as the butler and maid for the dinner Bob and Merle are having.
- Thelma finds a kitten in the backyard and wants to keep it. The only problem will be Ted, who hates cats. Bruno bets Ted $200 that he can't grow a moustache in a week, and is surprised when he does.
- Bob and Merle have a fight and she returns home to Brisbane. Thelma flies up to Brisbane to bring her home and Bob uses the opportunity to take Ted out on the town with a couple of women.
- Bob and Merle have broken up again and Thelma wants to get them back together. However, Bob already has a new girlfriend so Merle is advised to have an affair. It seems that the only suitable man available is Ted.
- Thelma makes $300 selling hand crafts. Ted finds where Thelma has hidden the money and uses it to bulk buy Whammo, the miracle detergent. He intends to sell it door-to-door for a profit. However, Whammo doesn't work as expected.
- Ted buys a cheap burglar alarm from Thelma's cousin Reg and then tries to sell it to Bruno. When Bruno refuses, Ted hatches a plan to convince him that he needs one.
- Thelma enters her meat loaf in a TV Week celebrity recipe competition and wins first prize, which is a visit by Graham Kennedy. However, Ted's bumbling turns the evening into an embarrassing disaster for Thelma.
- Thelma has saved up $5000 for her new Datsun but she is not keen to let Ted know about it. He takes the money and invests it in an oil company, which leads to a roller-coaster of emotions. Once again, Thelma shows more sense than Ted.
- Ted is going through a mid-life crisis so he decides to chuck in his job with putty and head to the Antarctica. But first he has to be selected.
- Thelma wins a trip to Rome for eight days. When Ted refuses to go, she takes Rosa, Bruno's mother. Enzo, Bruno's father, moves in with Ted and there is the inevitable clash of cultures.
- Bob's attempt to have a night with his girlfriend ends up with her mink coat being claimed by Thelma and Merle.
- Ted reads in his pay packet that he has been sacked. Sister Maria offers to give him an aptitude test, which determines that Ted is only suitable to be a process worker. Fortunately, Craig finds out that Ted hadn't really been sacked.
- To get a promotion at work, Ted thinks that he has to join the Brotherhood of Wombats as his boss is a member. Unfortunately, the initiation rituals that he has to perform do him no good.
- Thelma is unhappy with her love life and so she buys the book 'More Joy of Sex' to revive Ted's interest. It's Greta and Bruno's first wedding anniversary and Thelma has invited them to dinner, much to Ted's displeasure.
