The WAC Band was a rare place where a woman could work as professional musician. This story tells how these trailblazers helped change the landscape for American women while performing the everyday rigors of an Army musician. Since women were not allowed to perform in male bands, the WAC Band was their only option. The demanding hours and high-standards turned them into an elite band, often compared to the top male-only military bands. They played for presidents, on national radio and television, and made nationwide recruiting tours. This documentary features exclusive interviews with former WAC Band members, WAC officers, and current Army musicians.
