- To some people, a skatepark is a community space to meet new people and spend time with friends. To others, it teaches calculated risks and builds self-confidence. Skating is for everyone. It all starts with a push.
- Everyone asks, "Are you looking at me?". I don't blame them though. I ask myself that every day. I have a rare eye condition called Duane's Syndrome, and with this documentary, I'm going to show you what it looks like.
- The first episode of aptly-named inter-generational film and TV review series X vs Y, this episode discusses Audrey and Matthew's top 5 films. From Matthew's favourites of 'Trainspotting' and 'The Fighter' to Audrey's of 'Muriel's Wedding' and 'Chungking Express', you'll hear the reasons we love these particular films as we discuss the reasons these movies are so important to us, with a spattering of banter and quips along the way.
- 2021– 53mPodcast EpisodeAudrey and Matthew take you though three movies they watched recently: The Social Dilemma, a docudrama focusing on the negative effects of social media; Extraction, an action-thriller of mega proportions (lots of violence); and The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, an action-comedy loosely based on the 1605 novel of the same name. If you're a fan of Chris Hemsworth and super intense knife and gun fights, or Adam Driver and a blur of reality and fiction accompanied by increasingly bizarre scenarios, these films will capture your attention.
- For X vs Y's third episode, we were able to bring in a very special guest: Davy Nguyen. A radio host, executive film producer, event manager, and television presenter, Davy is THE Jack of all Trades. Davy is currently working on his own TV show, HeyYa TV, a media company providing a platform for local Australian artists and creatives. We talk about Cobra Kai, the continuation of the story of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, 34 years after that fateful 1984 All-Valley Karate Tournament. Davy discuss the parallels between Cobra Kai and The Karate Kid films, and how Cobra Kai plays out from Johnny's point of view. We also have another very special little guest: Lucy. Our youngest fan, she had a few things to say about Cobra Kai as well. You can guess she's a fan of Samantha LaRusso for sure. Tune in for Davy's thoughts on other martial arts films, Lord of the Rings, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
- For our very first SPECIAL, Matthew interviews our very talented producer and sound engineer, Helena, to talk all things Gen Y. She will be discussing her favourite films and TV shows, as well as some stuff they've both watched together. From Kim's Convenience to Normal People, you'll be hard-pressed to not enjoy this one. If you're into indie films and television shows, you'll love our first SPECIAL episode. OK, See you. (IYKYK)
- For Part 2 of our very first SPECIAL, we have Helena returning to the mic. Interviewed by Matthew, she takes us through her latest favourite movie, Happiest Season, and a few blockbusters she's a fan of. X vs Y's producer and sound engineer, she isn't used to sharing her thoughts on the mic, but we love having her here for this special episode. We hope you enjoy Part 2 of our first SPECIAL. OK, See you. (IYKYK)
- Audrey is back. After a short time away, our resident Gen X'er is back to talk all things Harry Potter, from The Philosopher's Stone to the Chamber of Secrets, and we discuss our favourite scenes, recurring themes, and the difficulties adapting book to screen. We're joined by our resident Harry Potter expert, Lucy, who gives her take on Dobby the House Elf, Remus Lupin, and Quidditch. Part 2 of our Harry Potter episode, following the Prisoner of Azkaban and the Goblet of Fire, will drop on the 16th of April, 2021. If you enjoyed this episode, make sure you check out Part 2 when it releases. Before we begin with Harry Potter, Audrey interviews Matthew to discuss his recent experience on a film set. He played an extra in the upcoming short film, Operation Kung Flu, which just dropped its trailer yesterday. Make sure you check it out. For Matthew's goss on what it's like to be on a film set, make sure you catch the first 10 minutes of this episode.
- Part 2 of our in-depth discussion on Harry Potter - Books vs Films is here. If you haven't checked it out yet, make sure you listen to Part 1 to get the lowdown on the Philosopher's Stone and the Chamber of Secrets. Today we'll be talking about the Prisoner of Azkaban and the Goblet of Fire, books/movies 3 and 4 in the Harry Potter series. Audrey and Matthew read Harry Potter at different times in their lives, and their perspectives are shaped by the age that they read the books and watched the films. They are again joined by resident Gen Alpha member, Lucy, who has her own perspectives of the Harry Potter books and films. We will be releasing Part 3, which will discuss the Order of the Phoenix to the Deathly Hallows, in the future and we'll keep you posted when it releases after Audrey and Lucy finish off the books and films. Make sure you follow our Facebook page to keep up-to-date. Until then, please enjoy Part 2 of our Harry Potter review on the books and films.
- 2021–Podcast EpisodeFor our sixth episode, Audrey and Matthew take on Academy Award Winner 'Parasite' and Academy Award Nominee 'Minari'; one is a Korean film and the other is Korean-American, an important distinction to make, as they are very different films. Parasite is a black comedy thriller, while Minari is a family drama. Both these films have been very successful on the international stage and have been fundamental in promoting Asian representation in cinema, alongside TV shows like 'Kim's Convenience' and 'Fresh off the Boat', and films like 'Crazy Rich Asians' and 'The Farewell'.
- For our 7th episode, Audrey and Matthew take on Disney's Mulan, both the animated and live action versions. The animated version is a favourite of Matthew's and did very well at the box office and with critics, whilst the live action adaptation has been plagued with controversy since its inception. Tune in for our thoughts on the films as we compare whether live action adaptations are always 'better' than animated versions.
