- Viewers for Quality Television, a non profit 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 1984 to advocate network series that its participants vote to be of the highest quality. It is the original viewer advocacy group, a participatory organization, open to all interested viewers. (from the VQT web site, 2000)
- The organization is dissolved in late 2000 due to financial problems.
