I chose this film over "Salo" for my list, because I found it more disturbing. While "Salo" is depressing, it's more so a philosophical art film, where the camera stays distant at the more disturbing elements. "Caligula" wallows in filth, extreme violence, and graphic sex in a more exploitative manner. I'm not saying it's a bad film, it just made me very uneasy.
