It is actually a well done adaptation of the novel.
In some ways, it's actually better than the live action movies.

The movie itself does try to be it's own thing.
It's doesn't have the princess formula,
which has an interesting outcome.
I found the characters comedic and fun.
The animation is kind of weak, but when you get past that,
