Not in any particular order. My son and I have the same sense of goofy humor, and we both love physical comedy.

- DirectorRoger KumbleStarsRyan ReynoldsAmy SmartAnna FarisWhile visiting his hometown during Christmas, a man comes face-to-face with his old high-school crush and best friend--a woman whose rejection of him turned him into a ferocious womanizer.Ryan Reynolds is fabulous and the movie is cute and hilarious.
- StarsJohn CleesePrunella ScalesAndrew SachsHotel owner Basil Fawlty's incompetence, short fuse, and arrogance form a combination that ensures accidents and trouble are never far away."Don't mention the war. I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it."
- DirectorSteve BendelackStarsRowan AtkinsonWillem DafoeSteve PembertonMr. Bean wins a trip to Cannes where he unwittingly separates a young boy from his father and must help the two reunite. On the way he discovers France, bicycling, and true love.Lessons in directions, getting rid of raw oysters the creative way, busking, and movie making. The dancing to Mr. Bombastic is some of the best rug-cutting ever done. And like Basil Fawlty, Mr. Bean does a mean Goose Step!
- DirectorSylvain WhiteStarsIdris ElbaZoe SaldanaJeffrey Dean MorganA CIA special forces team is betrayed and left for dead by their superiors, galvanizing them to mount an offensive on the CIA.Award for best cover version of "Don't Stop Believin'" and best strike outs with women.
- DirectorBarry LevinsonStarsDustin HoffmanRobert De NiroAnne HecheShortly before an election, a spin-doctor and a Hollywood producer join efforts to fabricate a war in order to cover up a Presidential sex scandal.Best stream of curses by a woman goes to Anne Heche.
- DirectorSteve CarrStarsKevin JamesKeir O'DonnellJayma MaysWhen a shopping mall is taken over by a gang of organized crooks, it's up to a mild-mannered security guard to save the day.Sweet guy saves the day. Love his stealth moves.
- DirectorBurr SteersStarsZac EfronMatthew PerryLeslie MannMike O'Donnell is ungrateful for how his life turned out. He gets a chance to rewrite his life when he tried to save a janitor near a bridge and jumped after him into a time vortex.Thomas Lennon has some snazzy stealth moves too--and so many hilarious lines, esp. exchanges like this: "Your hair is pretty. Would the lady mind if I smelled it?" "I think now would probably be a good time to tell you that I don't date my students' parents."..."Ok well maybe I should tell you that I never don't not date the principal of my child." or: "Wouldn't you do it if you had the chance?"..."No! No I would not! I'm rich and nobody stuck my head in a toilet today!" But I don't know why imdb has Ned Gold listed as Ned Freedman on some of the quotes. Who is Ned Freedman? Why am I so confused, lol?
- DirectorJohn HamburgStarsBen StillerJennifer AnistonDebra MessingA buttoned-up newlywed finds his strictly organized life descend into chaos when he falls in love with an old classmate.Funny from the get-go. Love Hank Azaria's French dude so much. And Philip Seymour Hoffman's basketball playing..."Let it rain!" "Rainman" "I just sharted." (gross but it is well-delivered and so funny!).
- DirectorDavid S. GoyerStarsWesley SnipesKris KristoffersonParker PoseyBlade, now a wanted man by the FBI, must join forces with the Nightstalkers to face his most challenging enemy yet: Dracula. We also love action movies, but the best part of this one is, once again, Ryan Reynolds' show-stealing lines while taken captive.
- DirectorJonathan LynnStarsBruce WillisMatthew PerryRosanna ArquetteA struggling dentist's life is turned upside down when a famous gangster moves in next door, and his wife convinces him to inform a notorious mob boss about the gangster's whereabouts.I don't know how Matthew Perry survived the window-smashing scene, but his garbled, unsuccessful attempts to speak right after are almost enough to make the whole movie worth watching. So many physical comedic things happen in this one that I can't name them all, but we do especially love it when Oz smashes into Frankie Figgs and then stands behind the skinny floor lamp. He is the perfect Nervous Nelly to Bruce Willis' cool scary-guy!
- DirectorHoward DeutchStarsBruce WillisMatthew PerryNatasha HenstridgeJimmy the Tulip's quiet new life is shaken up by his old pal Oz, whose wife has been kidnapped by a Hungarian mob. The Tulip and his wife Jill spring into action."You believe I fell down a flight of stairs, don't you?"...What stairs?". Oz has plenty of firepower and all the right combat moves to take down the cookie-selling Buttercup Girl at his door. Lines and moves make us squeal with laughter once again. "Squealbag! Squealster! Remington Squeal!" "You have a very long face--like a goldfish--or a shetland pony."
- DirectorThom EberhardtStarsKurt RussellMartin ShortMary Kay PlaceA Chicagoan inherits an old yacht. He, his wife, daughter and son fly to a Caribbean island and hire a dubious Captain Ron to sail them on an adventure to Miami.Martin Short is fabulous as the straight man this time and Kurt Russell is just dumb and smart enough to be so funny. The fall of the yacht while hearing the captain's log read aloud telling us about Captain Mo-Ron never gets old (Ahhhhh!!). "The Pirates of the Caribbean? Taken one too many trips to Disney World?" .... "You know. I don't believe I've ever been to Disney World." "Mommmmm!! The boat's on fire!! Mommmmm!"
- DirectorFrank CoraciStarsAdam SandlerDrew BarrymoreChristine TaylorRobbie, a singer, and Julia, a waitress, are both engaged, but to the wrong people. Fortune intervenes to help them discover each other.Steve Buscemi is almost a show-stealer right at the beginning as the drunk, loser brother of the groom. When he starts playing the guitar and when he's walking backwards and totally smashed and nearly -really- falls, we laugh everytime, as we do at many other lines and mishaps.
- DirectorPeter SegalStarsJack NicholsonAdam SandlerMarisa TomeiDave Buznik is a businessman who is wrongly sentenced to an anger management program, where he meets an aggressive instructor.Three words: "I feel pretty..."!!!
- DirectorDennis DuganStarsDavid SpadeJon HederRob SchneiderA trio of guys try and make up for missed opportunities in childhood by forming a three-player baseball team to compete against standard children's Little League squads.I thought I was the world's worst ball thrower/catcher/hitter until I saw this. So funny--esp. the taped-on bat.
- DirectorJon FavreauStarsWill FerrellJames CaanBob NewhartRaised as an oversized elf, Buddy travels from the North Pole to New York City to meet his biological father, Walter Hobbs, who doesn't know he exists and is in desperate need of some Christmas spirit."I love smiling. Smiling's my favorite." The best Will Ferrell movie ever. "Santa's coming!!!" "What's a Christmasgram? I want one!" "I'm a cotton-headed ninny-muggins!" "Have you seen these toilets?! They're gi-normous!!"
- DirectorDanny CannonStarsSylvester StalloneArmand AssanteRob SchneiderIn a dystopian future, Joseph Dredd, the most famous Judge (a police officer with instant field judiciary powers), is convicted for a crime he did not commit and must face his murderous counterpart. The action is great, but our favorite line is "We can't just knock on the wall and say 'Hello! Cursed-Earth Pizza!".
- DirectorSam WeismanStarsDavid SpadeMary McCormackAlyssa MilanoA thirty-something former child star hires a foster family to re-create the childhood he never had.The bike riding scene is never too old to laugh at. Some of the funniest falls and smashes are right there in those few minutes.
- DirectorBobby FarrellyPeter FarrellyStarsMatt DamonGreg KinnearEva MendesConjoined twins from Martha's Vineyard move to Los Angeles so that one of them can pursue an acting career.A very sweet and touching movie with some really funny physical stunts and silly lines. "Don't you walk away from me!" "I'm alone!" and the scene where they're still conjoined and beating each other up. Nice movie.
- DirectorBarry SonnenfeldStarsWill SmithKevin KlineKenneth BranaghThe two best special agents in the Wild West must save President Grant from the clutches of a diabolical, wheelchair-bound, steampunk-savvy, Confederate scientist bent on revenge for losing the Civil War.I loved the TV series---esp. Robert Conrad, but I also liked this movie. We esp. love some of the lines like "I am the master of the Me-chan-i-cal Stuffff and you are the master of the Stu-pid Stuff!!" and "That is a MAN'S HEAD!!"
- DirectorSeth GordonStarsReese WitherspoonVince VaughnMary SteenburgenA couple struggles to visit all four of their divorced parents on Christmas. It's a cute and funny movie, but the best part has to be Vince Vaughan's moment on stage in "church" as Joseph! His disasterous attempt to connect the satellite dish is pretty good too.
- DirectorPeter BillingsleyStarsVince VaughnMalin AkermanJon FavreauA comedy centered around four couples who settle into a tropical-island resort for a vacation. While one of the couples is there to work on the marriage, the others fail to realize that participation in the resort's therapy sessions is not optional.I loved Sctanley "with a C", but my son and I look forward to the shark scene the most "I need you to take the French out of your mouth and tell me what to do....Save yourselves!!"
- DirectorAnne FletcherStarsSandra BullockRyan ReynoldsMary SteenburgenA pushy boss forces her young assistant to marry her in order to keep her visa status in the U.S. and avoid deportation to Canada.I never realized how many of our joint-favorites have Ryan Reynolds in them. And he's from just up the way from where we are. His confusion with what the heck is going on when his ice-queen boss tells her bosses that they are getting married is priceless. His imitation of "It Takes Two" is nearly worn out on our disc, and her fantastic Aboriginal dance -and song choice- is enough to give us the hiccups from giggling.
- DirectorBen StillerStarsJim CarreyMatthew BroderickLeslie MannA designer makes a grievious mistake when he rejects the friendship of a borderline cable guy. This was made before my son was born, but I never saw it until he told me to try it. I think the medieval duel is one of our favorite parts, but only because of the soundtrack that Jim Carey provides--the Star Trek tension music! I also love his Grace Slick impersonation. She sounds exactly like that to me--bit of billy goat in that voice of hers. A bit dark, but still some very funny parts.
- DirectorMark Steven JohnsonStarsKristen BellJosh DuhamelAnjelica HustonBeth is an ambitious young New Yorker who is completely unlucky in love. On a whirlwind trip to Rome, she impulsively steals some coins from a reputed fountain of love, and is then aggressively pursued by a band of suitors.I like the story; my son could care-less about romance, but we both can't get enough of the physical comedy in this movie. Josh Duhamel's fantastic fall down the sidewalk hole "I did not see that coming". And her suitors' trips, stumbles, and crashes! The Criss Angel levitation-imitation that ends in something out of "The Birds"! And "What are you DOING in my apartment??!" "Blowing your MIND!" And the little clown car scene, with the silent ride in the elevator. Very funny. At least we think so.
