- DirectorDavid FincherStarsMorgan FreemanBrad PittKevin SpaceyTwo detectives, a rookie and a veteran, hunt a serial killer who uses the seven deadly sins as his motives.I think this was probably a very good movie. But it was so gross that I walked out after #6.
Everyone can start lobbing tomatoes at me now. - DirectorDan GildarkStarsJason CottleCasey CurranEthan AtkinsonA Seattle history professor, drawn back to his estranged family on the Oregon coast to execute his late mother's estate, is reaquainted with his best friend from childhood, with whom he has a long-awaited tryst. Caught in an accelerating series of events, he discovers aspects of his father's New Age cult which take on a dangerous and apocalyptic significance.I read the description in the catalog for the Seattle Film Festival, and I somehow decided this was a heartwarming coming of age film starring Tori Spelling and involving polar bears.
That is clearly an incorrect understanding of the film.
I would have left the theater, except that a whole bunch of the cast and crew were in my showing and I knew a few of them. - DirectorStanley KubrickStarsMalcolm McDowellPatrick MageeMichael BatesIn the future, a sadistic gang leader is imprisoned and volunteers for a conduct-aversion experiment, but it doesn't go as planned.Giant bludgeoning penis. Not good.
- DirectorRaja GosnellStarsMatthew LillardFreddie Prinze Jr.Sarah Michelle GellarAfter an acrimonious break up, the Mystery Inc. gang are individually brought to an island resort to investigate strange goings on.Worse than a mass market cartoon.
- DirectorPeter ChelsomStarsJohn CusackKate BeckinsaleJeremy PivenA couple search for each other years after the night they first met, fell in love, and separated, convinced that one day they'd end up together.I so wanted to like this... John Cusak and the magical hot chocolate place. But it was so painfully, boringly slow and bad.
- DirectorSeth GordonStarsReese WitherspoonVince VaughnMary SteenburgenA couple struggles to visit all four of their divorced parents on Christmas.Petty. Not funny. Definitely not Christmassy.
- DirectorStephen GaghanStarsGeorge ClooneyMatt DamonAmanda PeetA politically charged epic about the state of the oil industry in the hands of those personally involved in and affected by it.Seemingly gratuitous kids getting hurt scene 20 minutes in. As a mom with little kids. I just turned it off. The rest of the movie wasn't worth that sort of pain.
- DirectorDavid LynchStarsJack NanceCharlotte StewartAllen JosephHenry Spencer tries to survive his industrial environment, his angry girlfriend, and the unbearable screams of his newly born mutant child.Being a David Lynch fan in high school, I was so excited to see this one. During a slumber party, I fell asleep a third of the way through, and remember being glad that I was drifting off.
- DirectorRobert ZemeckisStarsTom HanksChris CoppolaMichael JeterOn Christmas Eve, a young boy embarks on a magical adventure to the North Pole on the Polar Express, while learning about friendship, bravery, and the spirit of Christmas. Why was there all the extra creepy plot? Me and my train crazy son would have loved this if it was 40 minutes of a train driving through snow and 20 minutes of Santa Claus.
