2011: MOVIES I'D GET IN LINE FOR.
This is a list of movies that I can't wait to see in 2011, and that I would get in line to watch on opening day. These are my most anticipated films of 2011. (In no way is this list supposed to identify which movies will be the most popular amongst movie audiences, and some of this may flop, suck, or not live up to audience expectations upon release.)

- DirectorDavid YatesStarsDaniel RadcliffeEmma WatsonRupert GrintHarry, Ron, and Hermione search for Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes in their effort to destroy the Dark Lord as the final battle rages on at Hogwarts. The first movie was released in 2001, it's 2011 now. I want to see how Hollywood raps up this series. Hopefully it will be as exciting as the actors, directors, producers, writers are making it sound.
- DirectorJon FavreauStarsDaniel CraigHarrison FordOlivia WildeA spaceship arrives in 1873 Arizona to take over the Earth, starting with the Wild West region. All that stands in their way: a posse of cowboys and natives.Cowboys? Check. Aliens? Check. Based upon a graphic novel? Check. The writing here should be good, and two great actors (Ford and Craig), and Jon Favreau did a great job with Iron Man. I'm sold that this sci-fi/western will be an entertaining thrill.
- DirectorTodd PhillipsStarsBradley CooperZach GalifianakisEd HelmsTwo years after the bachelor party in Las Vegas, Phil, Stu, Alan, and Doug jet to Thailand for Stu's wedding. Stu's plan for a subdued pre-wedding brunch, however, goes seriously awry.If it's anything like The Hangover, I'll laugh my ass off at it. Here's hoping that it'll be a worthy sequel.
- DirectorMatthew VaughnStarsJames McAvoyMichael FassbenderJennifer LawrenceIn the 1960s, superpowered humans Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr work together to find others like them, but Erik's vengeful pursuit of an ambitious mutant who ruined his life causes a schism to divide them. While X-Men: The Last Stand was meant to cap off the trilogy, I didn't enjoy it as much as I had expected to. Perhaps thats because with the changing of directors Bryan Singer's original vision was corrupted/ dumbed down. Well, Singer returns to X-Men here as a writer and I'll be interested to see where this prequel takes up. And i have to say the preview of this movie certainly looks cool.
- DirectorMartin CampbellStarsRyan ReynoldsBlake LivelyPeter SarsgaardReckless test pilot Hal Jordan is granted an alien ring that bestows him with otherworldly powers that inducts him into an intergalactic police force, the Green Lantern Corps.Ryan Reynolds while no Nathan Fillion, is a good actor. That said, I've always been a DC Comics type guy and I personally can't wait to see how the treat The Green Lantern. Also, Lantern is one of my favorite DC super-heroes. So we'll see how it goes... here's hoping it's not a Daredevil or Green Hornet.
- DirectorRob MarshallStarsJohnny DeppPenélope CruzIan McShaneJack Sparrow and Barbossa embark on a quest to find the elusive fountain of youth, only to discover that Blackbeard and his daughter are after it too.I didn't really enjoy the two sequels that followed up the first Pirates... so I'm glad that this movie is meant to be a stand alone. I think these movies work better that way. Saying that Depp is back, and Capt. Jack Sparrow is always a fun character. Also, I appreciate how they brought back most of the cast from the original movie, and added in the amazing Ian McShane as Black Beard, and the sexy Penelope Cruz as Angelica... this movie should be a worthy sequel. Perhaps the first in the Pirates series.
- DirectorKenneth BranaghStarsChris HemsworthAnthony HopkinsNatalie PortmanThe powerful but arrogant god Thor is cast out of Asgard to live amongst humans in Midgard (Earth), where he soon becomes one of their finest defenders. As far as the new Marvel heroes' movies go, I'm looking forward to this one the most. Norse gods, Best Actress Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins-- a mix of mythology and sci-fi blend together to create an enjoyable action film. At least one that I hope is enjoyable.
- DirectorJ.J. AbramsStarsElle FanningAJ MichalkaKyle ChandlerDuring the summer of 1979, a group of friends witness a train crash and investigate subsequent unexplained events in their small town.J.J. Abrams. Director of Mission Impossible 3 and more recently Star Trek. I think that Abrams has steady improved in ways of movies, and this movie has enough mystery surrounding it that it should be exciting.
- DirectorJake KasdanStarsCameron DiazJason SegelJustin TimberlakeA lazy, incompetent middle school teacher who hates her job, her students, and her co-workers is forced to return to teaching to make enough money for breast implants after her wealthy fiancé dumps her.Cameron Diaz. While she isn't my favorite actress of all time, in general she does pretty good when it comes to comedy. She was enjoyable in There's Something About Mary, The Mask, Being John Malkovich, The Holiday, and Charlie's Angels. Yes she has done some pretty crappy movies too... but I'm expecting this movie to be closer to There's Something About Mary, hitting with the same type of humor. It should be a fun movie and the Red Band Trailer is hilarious.
- DirectorJoe JohnstonStarsChris EvansHugo WeavingSamuel L. JacksonSteve Rogers, a rejected military soldier, transforms into Captain America after taking a dose of a "Super-Soldier serum". But being Captain America comes at a price as he attempts to take down a warmonger and a terrorist organization. It's Captain America, the front-runner of Marvel's super-heroes. Aside from that it has a top-knotch cast including: Tommy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving, Stanley Tucci, and Chris Evans. Furthermore, this is the movie that will lead into next years Avengers. Let's see what happens.
