The Dark Knight does it all, the Joker push the scenes to the limit, the climax was so superb, and nothing against Danny Boyle's Oscar winning "Slumdog Millionaire" (still one of my favorite) but this darker superhero film changes the way superhero flick should be forever.

Surely many of you will raise your eyebrows. Scorsese's "the departed" is really nice and great flick and of course with super-allstar cast made it possible plus its a mere remake of 2002 Infernal affairs ( which make me choose LMS instead). Overall it is one of the best, but I can't overlooked such efficiently magnificent independent film which just focusing on a single family which will entails all how beautiful life can be.

These movies are way to better to the film who won it all in 2006 Academy Award nights... "CRASH" which only features great acting performances and the story was nothing of a special though I believe it still have a nod

2 films ahead the actual winner, with such that the very controversial indie film of Mel Gibson about the last hours of our Savior Jesus-Christ was undoubtedly an epic and a must see movie for generation. While Eternal Sunshine, another Indie film exhibits an awkward love story which enlightened and delighted each and everyone who watches this simple but cute imaginative (sci-fi) film.

But of course Clint's film was so generous of acting skills which made it to the top, plus the story was great though the ending is quiet sad though overall a very good film you just cant out nod the story of Christ.

Another year with undeserving winner, and for me the worst best picture winner of All Time. (Chicago)

This one was a travesty. I’ll start by saying that I did see it on Broadway years ago and loved it. It was great, sexy entertainment filled with wonderful choreography. And unlike some Broadway musicals that made successful transitions to the world of film, this just plays as silly entertainment geared to the “Glee” demographic. It plays more like the failed musical adaptations such as “Rent” and “Phantom of the Opera” than it does the ones which actually encapsulate the essence of what made the musicals great in the first place (like “West Side Story” or “An American in Paris”). The songs are great, sure – it’s a great musical. But when you leave it to a Hollywood cast who are there for box-office power and not their singing chops (John C. Reilly, Renee Zellweger, Richard Gere), the songs fall flat. It was a weak year for good movies, but no one is ever going to look back at 2002 and think, “Oh, ‘Chicago’ was the best movie that year!” “Chicago” isn’t a good movie that beat out the more deserving…it is a poor, glitz-over-substance film that beat out the more deserving

I'm Sticking with the winner. The biography of the genius John Nash puts into film that will shock you how amazing and mesmerizing his life story was, though the first installment of the LOTR franchise was as fascinating till the end.

Two Russell Crow film in a row and both deserves the award. Great Modern Epic and one of the best movie of all time and my personal most favorite! A great great revenge story to the emperor that plotted in arena of Rome as gladiator.

I can't discount how great Cast Away & Requiem for a Dream were that's why I put them together with Almost Famous.

Matrix is a game changer movie, and I do think this should be credited to one of the best movie of all time... The whole story was told in a very different style and the CGI was so good than you can ever imagine. In fairness to Sam Mendez's American Beauty which I think co-deserving for it has a very good story, still I cant just overlook how this Wachowski Bros. flick not winning it and even not nominated that year.

Winning the best director for Spielberg's war-drama-epic doesn't give justice especially if it was just some great good old romance chick-flick movie "Shakespeare In Love". I think most of critiques would agree with me that Saving Private Ryan or The Big Lebowski or even The Thin Red Line was much more deserving than Shakespeare In Love. It was entertaining yet it was nothing compared to those Three

Not a great year for high quality movie but Titanic delivers an epic film which last to our memory as one of the best film of all time speaking of tickets sold and awards that it gets in the Academy Award Nights.

The English Patient who won the best picture award which I actually like, but given the other notable films of that year, I mean, come on…who actually fell in love with this movie and can watch it over and over? It certainly has the looks of a “Best Picture” winner. It’s grand and epic in scope – Oscar loves that, I know. But with films like “Fargo,” “Secrets and Lies,” “Sling Blade " "Trainspotting" and even "Jerry Maguire" could notch the winner out.

Fargo for a reason is the more suitable winner was with no major stars or well-known names, the actors outshine many more familiar personages. The story is well thought out. The criminals don't try to ingratiate themselves with the audience which adds to its reality. The acting is most convincing and the writing is excellent. Even the cold of a North Dakota winter comes across. Every film course should make use of this movie to demonstrate how to make a very good film without relying on a bottomless budget.

At first I would like to choose the real trophy getter (braveheart) but as I recall Se7en and The Usual Suspects made it so lean and basic movie and so easy to grasp because how the plot of Bryan Singer's Indie flick make me realized how movie and critical thinking should be co-exist and entertainingly wise it made u more fascinated and mesmerized till your out of the screen.

BRAVEHEART was one heck of an epic that will be never changed though 'The Usual Suspects' made almost everyone who watched this film more interested in watching a thrilling mind-blowing movie like Memento, Inception, & Sixth Sense etc.,

This one was no brainer for us here in IMDb. The No. 1 in the Top 250 film here is really and should be the best picture awardee. Controversially the Forrest Gump won it, but FG is one of my favorite movie of all time not to regress it but "The Shawshank Redemption" should really got the prestigious award.

Truly is deserving, this magnificent true-to-life movie which I think Spielberg's best movie of his time and belongs to the best of the best movie of all time

The First Horror movie in the list, but truly is mesmerizing how the acting was done and the twisted plot sway you to the edge of your sit. Truly deserving one.

I can't imagine how Costner's film notched this one. This is truly the masterpiece of Martin Scorsese though he did not won on this film. This is the best crime movie I've watched and one of my personal favorite.

This real life crime drama will leave you breathless till the very end of Henry Hill's biography. With its magnificent ending wolves have gunned to death after dancing (just kidding)

Driving Miss Daisy is not as good as it gets. This is a sweet film with some very touching moments. Morgan Freeman is outstanding here as is Jessica Tandy (who won a “Best Actress” Oscar here). But “Best Picture”? Do you really look back to 1989 and think back on this as being the year’s Best Picture?! If you are saying, “Yes” as you read this now, I’m calling you a liar. The film’s director wasn’t even recognized as a “Best Director” nominee. This was a year where voters wanted to feel good about themselves by selecting a movie that (haphazardly) shows the evils of racism. On that level, I felt the film to be a bit insulting, to be honest. It treats its viewers like idiots, thinking we had no idea how poorly blacks were treated in the South in 1948 and that yes, racism is bad. Thank you. It ranks so high on the list for these reasons and because it indefensibly beat out such grand triumphs of film such as Born on the Fourth of July and other four films above.

Many of you will agree that Stanley's Kubrik war epic should have won the Oscars Best Picture than 'The Last Emperor'. Even Spielberg's Empire of the Sun is way to better than the winner, though it is really good movie I just don't think how it surpass Full Metal Jacket.
