- DirectorAnthony BellBen GluckStarsHayden PanettiereChristina RicciJustin LongTwo young wolves at opposite ends of their pack's social order are thrown together into a foreign land and need each other to return home, but love complicates everything.Admittedly, the humor in this film does get a little risqué. Hell, the first joke in the movie is a vomit joke. But the story and the characters are still very likable! You sympathize with the main characters when they are removed from their home and you hope they make it back before it's too late! And the subplot between Garth and Lilly is just precious! Though, I'll admit it's so precious that I kinda wish THEY were the main characters of the movie. But, all-in-all this is still a decent family film that's relatively harmless for children. And I see little wrong with it!
- DirectorChris WeitzStarsNicole KidmanDaniel CraigDakota Blue RichardsIn a parallel universe, young Lyra Belacqua journeys to the far North to save her best friend and other kidnapped children from terrible experiments by a mysterious organization.Okay, okay, if you read the book, you're probably not going to like this movie. Admittedly, I hated how it ended. But aside from the ending which isn't even kinda close to the book, the movie is pretty good! The settings are pretty to look at, the characters are memorable, the acting is pretty good even from the young Dakota Blue Richards, and the world of this story is always captivating and interesting. Plus, how many of us secretly wish we had our own animal daemon walking beside us? The movie isn't perfect, but it's still a decent watch!"
- DirectorBaz LuhrmannStarsLeonardo DiCaprioClaire DanesJohn LeguizamoShakespeare's famous play is updated to the hip modern suburb of Verona still retaining its original dialogue. This is an interesting film. In that its setup is interesting. It's a retelling of the classic Shakespeare story of Romeo & Juliet in a modern day city while keeping the Elizabethan text intact. Explain that to a friend and they may get confused, but the movie actually carries it out pretty well! Now I'd be lying if I said that the movie didn't have any flaws, but it's definitely worth a watch! That's why I'm glad I have a copy on DVD!
- DirectorSimon WellsStarsKevin BaconBob HoskinsBridget FondaAn outcast Husky risks his life with other sled dogs to prevent a deadly epidemic from ravaging Nome, Alaska.Okay, I don't care how many people know it, I love this movie! It's an excellent movie for children and adults and I don't know why so many people dislike it! At first, I was willing to accept that it was overshadowed by Toy Story, which came out the same year, but as of this posting it rates a 6.7! Why? It isn't anywhere near that bad! The only thing I see wrong with it is Bob Hoskins' character is annoying and the villain isn't really three-dimensional. That's it! Everything else about this movie is perfectly harmless for children!
- DirectorLen WisemanStarsKate BeckinsaleScott SpeedmanShane BrollySelene, a vampire warrior, is entrenched in a conflict between vampires and werewolves, while falling in love with Michael, a human who is sought by werewolves for unknown reasons. This movie's actually kind of hit-and-miss. Some people like it, some people don't. I do like it! Yeah, it has the same problems that most action movies have. In that there are too many action sequences and the scenes between the action sequences are kinda boring. But the story itself is what gets to me. It's a series of movies about a war between werewolves and vampires. By now it's a cliché, but at the time it was kickass! You know, before Twilight *beep*ed everything to hell. Though I am confused about the special ammunition they have in the movie. Specifically how ... it would not work at all. But aside from that and the fight scenes, there isn't really that much of a problem with the movie! ... I wonder why they made a fourth one though.
- DirectorRussell MulcahyStarsChristopher LambertSean ConneryClancy BrownAn immortal Scottish swordsman must confront the last of his immortal opponents, a murderously brutal barbarian who lusts for the fabled "Prize".I think the reason a lot of people don't like this movie is because of the rest of the Highlander series. The entire franchise consists of five movies, two TV shows, an animated TV show, and a video game. And the only good thing about the entire thing is this one movie. Seriously, the rest of it is absolute crap. This is the only salvageable thing about it. So give this one a watch, but avoid the rest of it like the plague.
- DirectorMartin RosenJohn HubleyStarsJohn HurtRichard BriersRalph RichardsonHoping to escape destruction by human developers and save their community, a colony of rabbits, led by Hazel and Fiver, seek out a safe place to set up a new warren.Okay, I don't care what anybody says! This movie is *beep*ing awesome! Sure, it isn't really kid friendly, but it's still a provocative story with memorable characters and gripping tension! The heroes are great role models, the villain is chilling, the setting is ideal, and the plot is perfectly solid. There is nothing wrong with this movie! Admittedly, it's kinda harsh to show to young children, what with the bunny death and bloody gore, but it's perfect for young adults! And given the crap young adults are watching these days, I actually urge people to show this to their teenage children and give them a sense of enrichment!
- DirectorMel DamskiStarsGraham ChapmanPeter BoyleCheech MarinAfter serving two decades in prison, Yellowbeard (Graham Chapman) breaks out determined to recover the treasure that he buried so long ago, alongside his son, old crew, and the British Navy. This movie is ... yeah, it's not the best comedy out there. But it still has it's moments! And even if you don't think it's funny, you'll still have a lot of fun watching it and you can tell the actors were having fun making it! Is it a good movie? Not really. But it's still an enjoyable movie! And sometimes, even that is all we're looking for!
