- DirectorAllan ArkushStarsMalcolm McDowellAllen GarfieldDaniel SternMega-promoter Colin Beverly plans to sabotage the New Year's 1983 concert of small-time operator Max Wolfe. Wolfe's assistants Neil Allen and Willie Loman find romance while trying to save the drugs, violence, and rock and roll from Beverly's schemes.1/1-Really offbeat 80s movie about somebody throwing a party. No context, not the greatest character development, and a story that could have been written by a 10 year old. Just a party, just like "Bachelor Party", "Weird Science" and many others. Love those 80s movies!
- DirectorJaume Collet-SerraStarsLiam NeesonDiane KrugerJanuary JonesWhen a man awakens from a coma only to discover that someone has taken on his identity, he teams up with a young woman to prove who he is.1/2-i liked this, but I couldn't help but think it was close to seeming like some other movie. No, a bunch of other movies. Watchable, but not original.
- DirectorMario Van PeeblesStars50 CentRay LiottaLynn WhitfieldA drama centered around a promising football running back during his senior year in college.1/5-Impressive but much maligned stretch of a role by 50 Cent. He was a bit stiff, not very charismatic, but he did good. This continues the urban movie Cain and Abel theme of urban movies.
- DirectorTyler PerryStarsTyler PerryLoretta DevineShad MossThe crazy and comical Mabel Simmons, otherwise known as Madea, tries to wrangle her fighting family together for a family dinner regarding the health of her niece Shirley.1/7-This the type of movie if you like Tyler Perry,Christian themes (with a little edginess, but nothing profane), Madea, and that silly Meet the Browns guy, this will be satisfying. I liked it, having been into the Tyler Perry thing, but this is far from the best offering. He has everything you would expect from a Tyler Perry movie, but in this one he seems to put some humor in it that teens and young adults would like. Gags like "1-800-CHOKEAHO" might alienate the Christian viewers but may appeal to the young hip hop crowd. Not the best Tyler Perry movie, but probably just something to keep his name out there.
- DirectorHype WilliamsStarsNasDMXTaral HicksTwo young friends involved in organized crime and drug dealing find that their priorities differ.1/8- I seen this movie when it was in the theater. MTV showed this but what I noticed was that the sound and picture quality was just so crappy. I kept on having to turn the sound up when the commercials ended and turn the sound down when they started. Plus, it seems that all the "effects" that Hype Williams used didn't transfer so well to the small screen, and I was watching on an HD big screen! The dark parts looked too dark and he does alot of distance shots making the characters look like ants. Watching this on regular TV, you cant help but think that!
- DirectorNorman TokarStarsJames WhitmoreBeverly GarlandJack GingWhere the Red Fern Grows is the heartwarming and adventurous tale for all ages about a young boy and his quest for his own red-bone hound hunting dogs.1/14-I just saw the end of this movie but I couldn't help but remember seeing this in the 70s or so. A very tender flick that reminds you of "Little House on the Prairie". I like that stuff.
- DirectorRon HowardStarsVince VaughnKevin JamesWinona RyderA man discovers that his best friend's wife is having an affair.1/15-Pretty drab but amusing. I liked the settings and it had some yuck yuck moments. But as a movie, script was OK and the the intermingling of drama and comedy was alright. I was surprised to see Queen Latifah in this.
- DirectorNancy MeyersStarsMeryl StreepSteve MartinAlec BaldwinWhen attending their son's college graduation, a couple reignite the spark in their relationship. But the complicated fact is they're divorced and he's remarried.1/16-Cute story about a woman committing "reverse adultery" with her ex while being courted by a nice nerdy guy. A bit slow moving and generic romantic comedy.
- DirectorDarren AronofskyStarsNatalie PortmanMila KunisVincent CasselNina is a talented but unstable ballerina on the verge of stardom. Pushed to the breaking point by her artistic director and a seductive rival, Nina's grip on reality slips, plunging her into a waking nightmare.1/17-This movie is Hollywood at it's worse. With a nasty lesbian scene and just lots of utter weirdness, this is a movie that you really should avoid. If you end up watching it you might regret it.
- DirectorBrit McAdamsJames YukichStarsChris Jai AlexCece BellDa BratKatt Williams is back in this theatrical follow-up to the PIMP CHRONCILES PT. 1. Katt's flashy street attitude drives a story about returning to his roots. Katt is offered the opportunity to become a major Hollywood player. But there's a catch - he has to sell out by appearing in a musical penguin movie. Instead, he ditches Hollywood, rounds up his crew of Luenell, Red and Melanie and hits the road in a wild cross-country comedy tour. Features special appearances by Jeremy Piven, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg and Tamela Jones.1/21-Could never understand why people liked this guy in the mid 2000s, after seeing this movie, I still dont. I like how he would ignore and put in check hecklers, but he just cusses too much.
- DirectorDavid DobkinStarsOwen WilsonVince VaughnRachel McAdamsJohn Beckwith and Jeremy Grey, a pair of committed womanizers who sneak into weddings to take advantage of the romantic tinge in the air, find themselves at odds with one another when John meets and falls for Claire Cleary.“ 1/22-I saw this when it first came out. Since then, I have seen this like 5 times. Now, why did I watch it again? Nothing else was on! ” - thepoet21
- DirectorNelson GeorgeDiane ParagasStarsRhonda F. CowanSpike LeeBranford MarsalisAn intimate portrait of the black arts movement that exploded in Fort Greene from the mid 1980s through the 90s as told by writer, historian and Brooklyn resident Nelson George.2/8-A really great and sincere documentary about Nelson George's neighborhood and the early 90s arts movement that encompassed underground hip hop, spoken word poetry, comedy and film making. I liked this in that it showed the scene from the perspective of those who lived it, and showed how gentrification pretty much wiped it out.Very interesting.
- DirectorAlex LeMayQuestions of race, poverty, politics and religion hurdle towards each other in DESERT BAYOU, the story of 600 Hurricane Katrina evacuees who find themselves evacuated and deplaned from New Orleans and deposited into an isolated military installation in Utah. The lives of evacuees are undone; response from government officials, the military, local citizens and a Jewish rabbi astonish.2/9-Suprisingly interesting study of the experience of victims of Hurricane Katrina displaced and shifted to Utah. Alot of people trip of the racial aspect of this movie, but it was on point to me.
- DirectorErnest R. DickersonStarsOmar EppsTupac ShakurJermaine HopkinsFour inner-city teenagers get caught up in the pursuit of power and happiness, which they refer to as "the juice".2/8-I seen this movie too many times, even when it first came out back in '92. It was on one of those channels I got (I think ION) which shows all those "hood movies". Not a great movie, but it was really cool back then. Also, it started that "crazy black man with a gun" movie stereotype which would be repeated in Boyz N the Hood, Menace II Society and Strapped.
- DirectorJustin LinStarsVin DieselPaul WalkerDwayne JohnsonDominic Toretto and his crew of street racers plan a massive heist to buy their freedom while in the sights of a powerful Brazilian drug lord and a dangerous federal agent.3/17-Mindless action thriller, brings back the old gang from the original 2 installments of this series. Hard to believe this has lasted this long.Judging from the end, it looks like another one is in the works!
- DirectorAnthony DrazanStarsMichael RapaportDeShonn CastleKevin CorriganA white, hip-hop loving teen falls in love with a black girl.3/18-Golden age hip hop era movie that explored the ups and downs of interracial relationships. Saw it once before, but always enjoyed the soundtrack to this one.
- DirectorErik WhiteStarsShad MossBrandon T. JacksonNaturi NaughtonKevin Carson is a young man living in the projects who has to survive a three-day weekend after his opportunistic neighbors find out he's holding a winning lottery ticket worth $370 million.3/19-Already saw this, but I got sick so I watched it to get my mind of the sickness. I even have it on DVD!
- DirectorJohn SingletonStarsJanet JacksonTupac ShakurRegina KingGrieving hairdresser Justice goes on a road trip from South Central L.A. to Oakland on a mail truck alongside her friend and an obnoxious postal worker.3/20-Already saw this one many times before. Still trying to get over the sickness.
- DirectorBrett RatnerStarsEddie MurphyBen StillerCasey AffleckWhen a group of hard-working guys find out they've fallen victim to their wealthy employer's Ponzi scheme, they conspire to rob his high-rise residence.3/31-I had high hopes for this one. But, it was really bad. Despite the all star cast, which is part of the problem! An all star cast set to pull off a heist. Smells like Oceans 11, Takers, or even Fast 5? This movie wasn't even as good as these!
- DirectorMark FordStarsAlex AlonsoBart BartholomewCharlie BeckRevisits the riots in gripping detail and draws from a diverse collection of voices - the rappers, rioters, victims, police officers, journalists and everyday citizens of South Central Los Angeles.4/30-Superior documentary about the LA Riots that included lots of footage from that day. It doesn't glorify the violence, rather it shows the tension and chaos that was that day. Awesome.
- DirectorJohn SingletonStarsCuba Gooding Jr.Laurence FishburneHudhail Al-AmirFollows the lives of three young males living in the Crenshaw ghetto of Los Angeles, dissecting questions of race, relationships, violence, and future prospects.4/30-I just couldn't help it, I just had to watch this movie again! Seen it like 25 times, and I am just an addict. Or maybe it is because that is one of the movies in rotation on cable that I actually like. What is up with that?
- DirectorPaul Thomas AndersonStarsMark WahlbergJulianne MooreBurt ReynoldsBack when sex was safe, pleasure was a business and business was booming, an idealistic porn producer aspires to elevate his craft to an art when he discovers a hot young talent.5/3-Another movie I seen before that I ended up watching on cable, which shows the same movies over and over again. Wish there was more of a selection, get tired of watching the same old movies again and again.
- DirectorTom HanksStarsTom HanksJulia RobertsSarah MahoneyAfter losing his job, a middle-aged man reinvents himself by going back to college.5/6-Just what I wanted to see on a Sunday afternoon. Not sure what the purpose of making this movie was, but I really liked seeing Cedric the Entertainer role and Gugu Mbatha Raw was simply amazing as the young chick who helps Larry get his groove back. Not great, but not really that bad!
- DirectorTimothy Wayne FolsomeStarsMekhi PhiferMari MorrowMel JacksonDebbie and Howard are celebrating their wedding anniversary. Or so Debbie thought.6/28-This movie was terrible. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. A terrible plot that seemed to be made up as they went along, and lots of nerve wrecking violence mixed with a bit of sadistic pleasure, like the makers got a kick out of it. Yuck.
- DirectorAlex KendrickStarsAlex KendrickKen BevelKevin DownesWhen a tragedy strikes close to home, four police officers struggle with their faith and their roles as husbands and fathers. Together they make a decision that will change all of their lives.7/1-This was an awesome Christian movie about being a good, God-fearing, upstanding man. Loved it. I wish there were more movies like this.
- DirectorJudson Pearce MorganStarsRandy TravisJude CiccolellaNancy StaffordWhen the life of mega film star, Michael Steele (Travis), is destroyed right before the most important day of his life, his faith is put to the ultimate test.7/7-OK Christian movie with a halfway decent message.
- DirectorFred CarpenterStarsA.J. MerrillLeigh LombardiJohn ShannonAfter receiving a vivid vision of the Rapture, a Christian college student records an urgent audio cassette message describing end time events and sharing the Gospel with his unbelieving family.7/7-Christian short movie which I liked but its more fundamentalist/end time/rapture message made the movie worth seeing to me.
- DirectorRoger MelvinStarsJason WeaverCaryn WardGabrielle DennisKent is ready to put his playboy past behind him and marry the girl he loves- but first, he has to prove he's changed his ways for good.7/22-Sweet sincere funny black romantic comedy with a happy ending. Liked it.
- DirectorJay RoachStarsKevin SpaceyBob BalabanDenis LearyA chronicle of the weeks after the 2000 U.S. Presidential election, and the subsequent recounts in Florida.7/23-Saw this one on a whim. Very catchy, gives action and context to a difficult time.
- DirectorMichael WinnerStarsCharles BronsonDeborah RaffinEd LauterArchitect/vigilante Paul Kersey arrives back in New York City and is forcibly recruited by a crooked police chief to fight street crime caused by a large gang terrorizing the neighborhoods.7/28-A total classic. Saw this many times before, but it seems like AMC shows this movie every month, at least once.
- DirectorCraig ClydeStarsMel HarrisMatt McCoyRaeanin SimpsonWhen a young girl is injured by a riding accident, she overcomes her injury with the help of her family and her beloved horse.8/3-A movie about a girl and the horse who helps her overcome a handicap.
- DirectorT.C. ChristensenStarsCaitlin E.J. MeyerMaeve MillardKellet CookA moving example of the power of prayer, a miracle, and God's grace.8/3-Short but amazing....
- DirectorFred HolmesStarsRobert GinnavenGeraldine LeerDoris HargraveA doctor and his daughter are forced to deal with the subject of abortion in this penetrating drama. Both are hit with the issue head-on, but from different sides. The movie presents the truth, the choice, the cost: Christ. There are consequences to the decisions; choices we make in life...and some of them...are deadly.8/18-Not much here, an anti-abortion movie (otherwise known as Deadly Choice) which has a main theme: abortion is wrong. And it is.
- DirectorTom HooperStarsColin FirthGeoffrey RushHelena Bonham CarterThe story of King George VI, his unexpected ascension to the throne of the British Empire in 1936, and the speech therapist who helped the unsure monarch overcome his stammer.8/20-Very interesting film about the king of England in the WW2 era who needed help with a speech impediment. If you are in Toastmasters you should see this movie.
- DirectorMichael RapaportStarsQ-TipPhife DawgAli Shaheed MuhammadMichael Rapaport documents the inner workings and behind the scenes drama that follows this innovative and influential band to this day.8/22-Documentary about the rap group that shows a lot of sensitive, behind the scenes drama. After seeing, I realized it must really suck being a hip hop star! Ideal for fans of golden age hip hop.
- DirectorThomas MakowskiStarsJohn SchneiderMaxine BahnsAdam GregoryA group of Americans--a singer, a newspaper editor, a pastor, and a real-estate mogul--vow to walk in the steps of Jesus. Every day, every decision, becomes a turning point in their lives as they ask themselves "What Would Jesus Do?"8/25-I dunno about this one. What the title projects is much bigger than this movie and the story it tells. Good vs evil plays out in the political arena when a Rick Perry look a like comes up against a Christian politician. I guess I would've expected a story that was more personal. You can see good vs. evil politicos on the news, so I wouldn't want to watch a movie about it, but I did, so.....
- DirectorIain SoftleyStarsJonny Lee MillerAngelina JolieJesse BradfordTeenage hackers discover a criminal conspiracy with plans to use a computer virus that will capsize five oil tankers.8/26-Jolt cola, Pat Benatar hair, Maxell and floppy disks. Sometimes I miss that time.
- DirectorJames L. BrooksStarsJack NicholsonHelen HuntGreg KinnearA single mother and waitress, a misanthropic author, and a gay artist form an unlikely friendship after the artist is assaulted in a robbery.8/26-It was cute Sunday afternoon romantic comedy type stuff, but Jack Nicholson to me is too old. What was he doing here?
- DirectorCharlie JordanStarsIrma P. HallDarius McCraryTamera Mowry-HousleyTommy though a young man with the voice of an angel, but a record of an ex-con dreams of a steady job and a better life appear out of reach until Memaw, a spunky saint with a big heart, takes him under her wing.8/31-Really pleasant Christian movie about a guy who gets a second chance at life. Despite the stereotypes and some unnecessary sub plots, it has a feel good ending!
- DirectorCraig Ross Jr.StarsDuane MartinVivica A. FoxMeagan GoodSuper fly P. I. gets bad guys the cops can't touch.9/1-Movie with a lot of black actors who don't get parts in the blockbuster theatrical movies. It was good, being a movie about an investigator who steps into that blurry world that exist between hip hop and crime. However, I'd love to see Gabrielle Union,Meagan Good, Vivicca Fox, and Stacey Dash (luv her) in more movies. I know they can do better.
- DirectorKevin SmithStarsBruce WillisTracy MorganJuan Carlos HernándezJimmy's rare baseball card is robbed. Since it's his only hope to pay for his daughter's upcoming wedding, he recruits his cop partner Paul to track down the robber, a memorabilia-obsessed gangster.9/2-Didn't like it the first time, but there were some bits about it that made it a little better the second time around. Not a fan of Tracy Morgan or the post Die Hard Bruce Willis, but it was alright.
- DirectorTim StoryStarsChris BrownGabrielle UnionKevin HartFour friends conspire to turn the tables on their women when they discover the ladies have been using Steve Harvey's relationship advice against them.9/2-Finally saw this on the On Demand service. Kevin Hart was very funny, my favorite black actresses looked very good, and it was an excellent movie in all ways. Enjoyable!
- DirectorMike FiggisStarsWesley SnipesNastassja KinskiKyle MacLachlanMax/W.Snipes has a one night stand with Karen/N.Kinski in NYC. He returns to his wife, 2 kids and career in LA but is affected. A year later, Max and Karen meet again by chance, but this time they're with their spouses.9/2-I think I saw this before, but it just seemed so irrelevant before that I didn't even remember. I wish the On Demand had more and better free choices.
- DirectorCharles Randolph-WrightStarsCiaraLynn WhitfieldPatti LaBelleA preacher's daughter, Amara, sings in the church choir before being discovered by a well-established musician. Soon she rises to international fame as a pop singer.9/8-The singer Ciara is mesmerizing and beautiful, and this was a story of the struggle between sincerity vs. commerce. I'm not sure it was all resolved in the end, but looking at Ciara for two hours made it all worth while.
- DirectorLarry ClarkStarsJonathan VelasquezFrancisco PedrasaMilton VelasquezA group of teenage boys opt to form their own identity by riding skateboards, wearing tight pants.9/10-Seen this before. Though it sometimes reads like a documentary about some Hispanic skate punks, there is something that is very engaging and real about it.
- DirectorMario Van PeeblesStarsWesley SnipesIce-TAllen PayneA crime lord ascends to power and becomes megalomaniacal while a maverick police detective vows to stop him.9/11-Couldn't help it, this movie came on some cable channel which shows the same old stuff all the time, and I got sucked in. I've seen this more times than I needed to before....
- DirectorPeyton ReedStarsKirsten DunstEliza DushkuJesse BradfordA champion high school cheerleading squad discovers its previous captain stole all their best routines from an inner-city school and must scramble to compete at this year's championships.9/12-Another movie I got sucked into watching again! I only watched it every time for Gabrielle Union. And that guy with the spirit fingers was pretty funny...
- DirectorAntoine FuquaStarsDenzel WashingtonEthan HawkeScott GlennA rookie cop spends his first day as a Los Angeles narcotics officer with a rogue detective who isn't what he appears to be.9/13-Another personal classic. I didn't need to see it again, but it was on, so.....
- DirectorJeffrey W. ByrdStarsTia MowryTamera Mowry-HousleyMark TaylorWhile divorced and bickering grandparents watch their grandchildren, a lab experiment gone awry transforms the elders into teenagers again.9/16-I luv Tia and Tamara Mowry, they are so cute. Maia Campbell was in this before her drug days looking like a cuter Gabrielle Union, sad to see what she became. Oh, and the movie? Pretty forgettable but saved by the young stars performances.
- DirectorSteve McCurdyStarsJoyce AnastasiaPatty Tuel BaileyJohn BroadwayLloyd Boyd has been called to be a "personal preacher" in the shower. This is his story and the story of the people's lives he affected. Based on the novel by Ken Bailey.9/22-Saw this on TBN. If you can get past some of the stereotypes and the somewhat odd story, and you watch the whole thing, you will be touched.
- DirectorOlivier MegatonStarsZoe SaldanaMichael VartanCallum BlueA young girl in Bogotá witnesses her parents' murder and grows up to be a stone-cold assassin.9/22-Picked this up from the On Demand. This movie was a pleasant surprise! Exciting and energetic from beginning to end. Though it was far from original, this was an awesome action flick featuring the lovely Zoe Saldana. Totally awesome!
- DirectorLee DavisStarsDanny GloverSergej TrifunovicMichelle RodriguezThe feature film directing debut of Spike Lee protege Lee Davis takes viewer into world of taxi drivers.9/29-Suprisingly good offering I found On-Demand produced by Spike Lee and his 40 Acres and A Mule Film company. Low budget, but a good introspective story, cameo appearances from various stars, and just a good premise make this a slept on but good midnight movie.
- DirectorBrad FurmanStarsJohn LeguizamoTyrese GibsonRosie PerezAfter he's shot during a heist in East L.A., an armored truck driver wrestles with rehabilitation and tracking down the man who committed the crime.10/6-Great cast, good story, but very grainy and low budget. An urban flick with a lot of potential but not so sophisticated production. The fact that the stars are Latino vets in the industry given such shabby treatment says a lot about how they, and other minorities, are treated by Hollywood.
- DirectorCurtis CrawfordStarsAlexandra PaulTracy SpiridakosJon CorA teenage girl falls madly in love with someone claiming to be a college student, whom she meets on a social networking website, and keeps her internet romance a secret from her mother.10/7-OK movie, like an after school special type of production. Its hard to believe that the "bad boy" has a Justin Bieber type look, but I guess that's to attract the young girls this movie is aiming for with the message of being careful with who you meet online.
- DirectorFrançois DompierreStarsAmanda RighettiKrista BridgesAndrew ShaverNeglected by her workaholic husband, a young wife, Maren Abbott, meets a man through Wandering Eye - a networking website designed to facilitate extramarital liaisons.10/7-Interesting take on online cheating with the message of being careful who you meet or interact with online. Good for a weekend afternoon.
- DirectorJamal HillStarsNafessa WilliamsMeek MillMarvin WarnerA musical talented young woman hangs out with a tough crew and gets caught up in a murder investigated by her mom.10/13-Low budget hood flick set in Philly. Watched on BET after the Hip Hop Awards. Was good, not great....
- Director50 CentJ. Jesses SmithStars50 CentClifton PowellElijah WilliamsA coming of age story about an inner-city youth raised by a hardworking single mother. When his dream of becoming a basketball player fails to materialize, he finds himself employed in a supermarket. After his mother is tragically gunned down, Clarence (played by Jackson) is consumed by revenge and takes up a life of crime in order to support his younger brother.10/26-Crappy hood flick starring 50 Cent who deals with his mothers killing on the streets of NYC by becoming a contract killer himself. This mediocre extended music video with no music glorifies murder and gangsterism while trying to condemn it with some rather shallow platitudes and a "what goes around comes around" ending. Not good.
- DirectorLauren LazinStarsTupac ShakurRappin' 4-TayConrad BainHome movies, photographs, and recited poetry illustrate the life of Tupac Shakur, one of the most beloved, revolutionary, and volatile hip-hop M.Cs. of all time.11/24-Never saw this before now. Seen alot of Tupac documentaries and shows, read alot of books. This didn't really reveal much of anything new, but it did a good job of providing something of a timeline. This is good for people not familiar with him, but for those fans who already know his life story, there isn't much you will see that you haven't seen before.
- DirectorBilly CorbenStars50 CentJay-ZMobyA documentary on former New York City club owner Peter Gatien.12/1-Impressive documentary about a guy who owned all the big NYC clubs. Shows his rise and fall due to the government of NYC trying to shut his clubs down for various reasons. Focused alot on the drug and music scenes, how they mixed and combined to make a really awesome scene fade.
- DirectorDavid PresleyStarsTrishelle CannatellaGinny WeirickMaitland McConnellThree college cheerleaders (and after-school go-go dancers) use their martial arts skills to save their Sensei from mafia kidnappers, but must keep their extracurricular activities a secret to realize their Ivy League dreams at Brown.12/8-Very bad. Is this the best that Comcast has to offer on the On Demand? I wonder why I am paying all those monthly fees.
- DirectorBrian De PalmaStarsRebecca RomijnAntonio BanderasPeter CoyoteA woman tries to straighten out her life, even as her past as a con-woman comes back to haunt her.12/9-Odd movie. Couldn't make heads or tales of it.
- DirectorJames TobackStarsBen StillerAllan HoustonClaudia SchifferA group of white high school teens become involved with Harlem's black hip-hop crowd.12/15-This reminds me of those artsy flicks you would see that was between the "hip" bookstore and the coffee shop. Big movie stars, Bullet head from the Steve Harvey show, and white college kids mingle with Mike Tyson and the Wu Tang Clan for something giving mixed results. Fans of Wu Tang Clan will like this, but other than that, its just alright.
- DirectorF. Gary GrayStarsDonald SutherlandMark WahlbergEdward NortonAfter being betrayed and left for dead in Italy, Charlie Croker and his team plan an elaborate gold heist against their former ally.12/17-Slightly amusing distraction. I like the actors and the director (F Gary Gray) so I had to check it out. It was just OK though.
- DirectorAlbert MagnoliStarsPrinceApollonia KoteroMorris DayA young musician, tormented by an abusive situation at home, must contend with a rival singer, a burgeoning romance, and his own dissatisfied band, as his star begins to rise.12/17-Actually saw this once before, but this time, I finally found out that Appollonia was not black. Not that it was a big deal, but I thought....
- DirectorTom VaughanStarsCameron DiazAshton KutcherRob CorddryA man and a woman are compelled, for legal reasons, to live life as a couple for a limited period of time. At stake is a large amount of money.12/27-Watched part of this; funny, lots of twist and turns and a happy ending......
- DirectorMike JudgeStarsJason BatemanKristen WiigBen AffleckJoel, the owner of an extract plant, tries to contend with myriad personal and professional problems, such as his potentially unfaithful wife and employees who want to take advantage of him.12/27-Saw part of it, like the first part, maybe I will finish later. Mila Kunis in the beginning was kinda funny!
- DirectorTyler PerryStarsTyler PerryEugene LevyDenise RichardsA Wall Street investment banker who has been set up as the linchpin of his company's mob-backed Ponzi scheme is relocated with his family to Aunt Madea's southern home.12/29-Without telling too much about this, this is only for the straight up Madea character fans. This won't win that many new Tyler Perry fans because it is so bad, but you will love it if you like Tyler Perry and Madea. It has a good positive message too!
- DirectorMichael Caton-JonesStarsSharon StoneDavid MorrisseyDavid ThewlisNovelist Catherine Tramell is once again in trouble with the law, and Scotland Yard appoints psychiatrist Dr. Michael Glass to evaluate her. Though, like Detective Nick Curran before him, Glass is entranced by Tramell and lured into a seductive game.12/30-I barely remember this but I think I did see it one time before. In my opinion, this was a bit more mental than the first. The first was extremely visual, with some of it's notorious scenes. This, however, counted more on the connection between the characters of Sharon Stone's character and the therapist. This makes it more or less exciting, depending on your perspective.
- DirectorGarry MarshallStarsSarah Jessica ParkerJessica BielAshton KutcherThe lives of several couples and singles in New York City intertwine over the course of New Year's Eve.12/31-Wrapped up the year with this fun, quirky, simple star studded romantic comedy. Not great, but alot of fun to watch. Great movie to watch on the last day of the year!
