If this film were to be released today with the same production value, script, and acting, I guarantee that it would still be a well-appreciated, critically-acclaimed film. While this movie is set in post-war Italy, its themes and message are still relevant today.

This movie inspired me to pursue filmmaking. It's dark, fast-paced, and mind-blowingly epic. All the key characters are really well developed in the story. It's also one of the best directed films out of the series--Irvin Kershner did a superb job.

Horror movies tend to get cheesier over time. Not Psycho. The more I watch and understand the subtle themes and symbols, the more horrified I am of this movie. It's quite unfortunate how much this film has been parodied. My suggestion is to watch this movie after clearing your mind--think about the score and the themes, and how daring and novel it must have been for a first time viewer from the 60s.

An auteur as talented as Miyazaki probably doesn't care about what the public, critics, and fellow artists think about his work. And to our benefit, this same man makes a film at the zenith of his career. The product=a masterpiece entitled, "Spirited Away."
