33 GREAT Movies I watched and recommend
These are one of the best movies I've watched since I started to like cinema. There were several movies important for me but I tried to prepare the ones that were the most remarkable from my favorite directors like Paul Thomas Anderson, David Lynch, Lars von Trier, Sergio Leone and many others. There are still plenty of movies for me to watch but I hope you enjoy it! The first 20 are the ones I like most with no particular order. The last 10 are honorable mentions.

- DirectorPaul Thomas AndersonStarsTom CruiseJason RobardsJulianne MooreAn epic mosaic of interrelated characters in search of love, forgiveness and meaning in the San Fernando Valley. This movie was truly one of the best one I’ve ever watched. The way that Paul Thomas Anderson created his characters and how they interacted with each other showing their feelings is very strong. The metaphor at the ending is incredible and you have to have an open mind to feel it.
- DirectorDavid LynchStarsNaomi WattsLaura HarringJustin TherouxAfter a car wreck on Mulholland Drive renders a woman amnesiac, she and a Hollywood-hopeful search for clues and answers across Los Angeles in a twisting venture beyond dreams and reality. It impressed me how the things fit on this puzzle about destroyed dreams and loves. It’s also nihilistic, lyrical and really scary. Only David Lynch could create an environment like that.
- DirectorDarren AronofskyStarsNatalie PortmanMila KunisVincent CasselNina is a talented but unstable ballerina on the verge of stardom. Pushed to the breaking point by her artistic director and a seductive rival, Nina's grip on reality slips, plunging her into a waking nightmare. The way that the music of the Black Swan's play interacts with the drama in the screen, especially in the ending is just true cinema. The best movie I've watched in the last years. Darren Aronofsky presented us a modern opera that can only be explained if you watch it.
- DirectorLars von TrierStarsEmily WatsonStellan SkarsgårdKatrin CartlidgeOilman Jan is paralyzed in an accident. His wife, who prayed for his return, feels guilty; even more, when Jan urges her to have sex with another.A difficult movie to watch but if you manage go to until the ending its very rewarding. Emily Watson delivers the best female performance I've seen in a movie. It's just touching, SAD and beautiful.
- DirectorRobert AltmanStarsKeith CarradineKaren BlackRonee BlakleyOver the course of a few hectic days, numerous interrelated people prepare for a political convention.
- DirectorLars von TrierStarsNicole KidmanPaul BettanyLauren BacallA woman on the run from the mob is reluctantly accepted in a small Colorado community in exchange for labor, but when a search visits the town she finds out that their support has a price.Any way you think about this movie and try an interpretation it will always somehow show that the director is right. The human nature tends to be really bad sometimes and Lars von Trier ironically showed us that. A really impressing script, maybe the best ever written for the big screen.
- DirectorAlejandro G. IñárrituStarsEmilio EchevarríaGael García BernalGoya ToledoAn amateur dog fighter, a supermodel, and a derelict assassin, all separately struggling to find love, find their lives transformed by a devastating car wreck in Mexico City.Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu showed here for the first time why we can always expect something special from him. The script from Guillermo Arriaga helped 100%. Hope to see this partnership back. Special mention to 21 Grams.

- DirectorSergio LeoneStarsRobert De NiroJames WoodsElizabeth McGovernA former Prohibition-era Jewish gangster returns to the Lower East Side of Manhattan 35 years later, where he must once again confront the ghosts and regrets of his old life.I used to like mafia movies much more in the past. It’s important that you watch the full version to feel all the beauty of this epic saga.
- DirectorWes AndersonStarsOwen WilsonAdrien BrodyJason SchwartzmanA year after their father's funeral, three brothers travel across India by train in an attempt to bond with each other.Wes Anderson's movies are not for everyone but I love all his movies. - DirectorKevin SmithStarsBrian O'HalloranJeff AndersonMarilyn GhigliottiA day in the lives of two convenience clerks named Dante and Randal as they annoy customers, discuss movies, and play hockey on the store roof.If I have to pick up a comedy, then I’ll have to go with this one.
