(2nd) Time to Honor Morocco ...
After so many polls, the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Moroccan independence and now that the Festival of Marrakech made Morocco the capital of World Cinema for a few days, I figured it was time to pay a little tribute to my country.
Indeed, ever since the early years of Hollywood Golden Age, Morocco has been a darling for film-makers in quest for an exotic setting. Indeed, many sword-and-sandals, religious and historical epics, many adventure, war and spy thrillers are set in Morocco.
The question (in Moroccan colors) is the following: "Which of these non-Moroccan movies, shot entirely or partially, in Morocco, rated higher than 6.0 and NOT in the Top 250 is your favorite?"

On a side (ironic) note, the most iconic movie to put Morocco on cinematic maps hasn't been shot in Morocco, inspiring a famous segment from a Rock'n'Roll Moroccan song (yes, it exists) that pays tribute to the 'greatness' of America and the way it dwarfs any country (including Morocco):
"We [Moroccans] know Marlon Brando, Robert de Niro, And Clint Eastwood and every film from Hollywood. And Miles Davis, and Carl Lewis, And Sharon Stone, and Bill Clinton...
But you [Americans], what do you know about us? Yeah, you, what do you know about us?
Aaah, Casablanca (1942) the movie, naturally, Shot in Hollywood, entirely, Because of that, for more than 50 years, You think we still live in Black and White. ... "
(sounds better in French, believe me!)
