To help get the religious aspect of The Exorcist right, director William Friedkin hired three Jesuit priests to act as technical advisers on the film. Despite his notable attention to details, he had never actually witnessed an exorcism. Until now, that is. Friedkin's new film, The Devil and Father Amorth, follows Vatican exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth as he prepares for and conducts an exorcism. Friedkin's unique perspective and Amorth's openness to being filmed have definitely piqued our interest.
