Disney-Produced 'Star Wars' You Most Want to See
As of January 2020, Lucasfilm's next 'Star Wars' live-action movie, Untitled Star Wars Trilogy: Episode I is the focus of the studio's immediate movie future. The pre-production movie represents the first chapter in a Rian Johnson led trilogy. Also, an tt11026882 is in the works that will tap the talents of fan-pleasing Marvel producer, Kevin Feige. While, future movie installments of 'A Star Wars Story' anthology series have been put on hold; possible future projects with a link to the Skywalker series are still being explored. Meanwhile, the previously announced Untitled Star Wars / David Benioff and D.B. Weiss movie series has been canceled due to other time commitments by the "Game of Thrones" show runners.
Disney+ seems to be future home for most "Star Wars" episodic series. Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) returns in early 2020, an Andor (2022) premieres in late 2021 and an Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022) is likely to drop in 2022 or beyond. Meanwhile, Star Wars: Underworld, a darker episodic series seems unlikely to ever move forward. All of these projects are part of LucasFilm's effort to expand the 'Star Wars' universe by developing stories beyond George Lucas' original Skywalker movie series. In addition to the aforementioned titles, dozens of other live-action and animated projects are in various stages of early development.
