WTF: 'Green Book' Wins Best Picture
Green Book winning Best Picture honors was a surprise (even if we did call it), especially because all signs pointed to this being Roma's night, after wins for Best Foreign Language Film, Best Cinematography, and Best Director for Alfonso Cuarón. Within minutes, the internet was comparing it to 2006 Best Picture Crash (which is not a compliment). Spike Lee reportedly pulled a reverse Kanye and began storming toward the exits before returning to sit down with his back to the stage. After the show, Lee was quoted as saying, "Every time somebody's driving, I lose," a reference to the 62nd Oscars, when Driving Miss Daisy won Best Picture (Lee's Do the Right Thing was nominated for Best Original Screenplay).
