I would love a new movie with the same team from Idiocracy (Mike Judge & Etan Cohen) with the original team as well. It would be great to do an old & new thing with the cast. I like what they did in the somewhat newer cartoon. They could have a Ghostbuster become a professor & teach a class on the paranormal that investigates new & famous hauntings with his class. They notice there are more paranormal attacks than ever & things are getting out of control. A call to the old team is needed but Vankmen just uses the opportunity to get the team back together except Egon who see's threw Peters attempt to get back the money & fame. They then discover a portal opening to a hellish dimension that is spilling over to our world & is getting bigger every day & releasing more dangerous creatures. They must battle it head on & enter this ghostly & macabre world where they find Vigo (Now more demon than man so it wouldn't be wired with a new actor) has grown more powerful than ever after teaming with some of the most powerful & dangerous creatures of the other worlds (The Real Zuel - finally get to see what it looks like, Gozer, & some of the coolest characters from the cartoons) to harness enough power to open the portal & seek revenge on the human race. I think that could make for a great movie. You could even add Walter Peck using black magic helping the portal open to humiliate & destroy the once again popular Ghostbuster.

(Since that plot was heavily into Egon could always have The Peter Venkman show actually stumble onto something big that leads to a similar conflict.)
