- Sophia Jane Myles was born on March 18, 1980 in Hammersmith, London, England. She has a younger brother, Oliver. Her parents are Jane and Peter Myles, who is a vicar, a priest in the Anglican Church who is in charge of a parish and receives a salary, but not the tithes of the church. Her mother works in publishing. Sophia lived in Notting Hill until she was 11 and attended Fox Primary School. Her father was later relocated to Isleworth, a suburb west of London.
At 16, Sophia starred in a school production of "Teachers" written by Kevin Godber. Among those in attendance, Julian Fellowes, the Oscar winning writer of Gosford Park (2001). Sophia was subsequently cast in the BBC production of The Prince and the Pauper (1996). Julian Fellowes worked on the script. Two years after her role in The Prince and the Pauper (1996), Sophia was cast as young "Saffron" in the TV mini-series Big Women (1998). In 1999, after recently enrolling in Cambridge University to study philosophy, she got a small part in Mansfield Park (1999) playing "Susan Price". Before heading to school, Sophia was cast as "Agnes Fleming" in the TV series, Oliver Twist (1999). (The series also starred Keira Knightley). After which, she dropped out to pursue acting.
After that, Sophia got a number of small parts in movies and television shows. Most notably, she was cast as Johnny Depp's wife in From Hell (2001). In 2003, Sophia got a supporting role in Underworld (2003) opposite fellow British beauty, Kate Beckinsale (Pearl Harbor (2001)). Up next, Sophia was cast in the thriller Out of Bounds (2003)) as "Louise Thompson", about an awkward young girl in an English boarding school who falls in love with her American art teacher, who is married to the headmistress.
Later that same year, Sophia was cast in the big screen version of the English cult hit, Thunderbirds (2004). Though the movie didn't perform as expected, she earned praise for her role as the iconic "Lady Penelope". Soon, Sophia began working on Art School Confidential (2006), directed by Terry Zwigoff (Ghost World (2001)) playing an American who is the muse of a student in art school. Anthony Stewart Head was born on February 20, 1954 in Camden Town, north London, England. He grew up in Hampton, near Richmond upon Thames in London. He's the youngest son of Seafield Head (a documentary filmmaker) and Helen Shingler (an actress). He is the younger brother of musician/actor Murray Head who originated the role of Judas on the original album of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'. His long term partner is former theatre administrator Sarah Fisher who he met when he was 28, and they are the parents of actresses Emily Head and Daisy Head. Besides acting, Head takes after his brother in being an accomplished singer, and they have appeared in many of the same productions, although never at the same time. In 1983, he was in a band named "Two Way". The band released a 45 single with three songs, produced by Richard Dodd and Ron Roker. Elisabeth Sladen was born in Liverpool, England. She attended drama school for two years before joining the local repertory theatre in her home town of Liverpool. She met actor Brian Miller during her first production there and they were later married after meeting again in Manchester, three years later. Early television work included appearances on Coronation Street (1960), Doomwatch (1970), Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em (1973), Public Eye (1965) and Z Cars (1962). After leaving school, John Leeson worked in a bookshop, and then as a porter in the Leicester Royal Infirmary Hospital. He joined the Leicester Dramatic Society and ultimately applied for and won a place at RADA. On leaving the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, he worked in repertory and pantomimes, including "Toad of Toad Hall," in which he met his future wife. His first work in television was as a walk-on in a BBC play, "The Wedding Feast." "The Spanish Farm" (1968), "Dad's Army" and numerous situation comedies followed. He played the original Bungle the bear in the children's series "Rainbow" (1972), set questions for "Mastermind" and did a lot of freelance voice work for the BBC. Since graduating from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA), Shaun Parkes has been a constant on our screens with television credits including Netflix's Lost in Space, Da Vinci's Demons (STARZ), Line of Duty (BBC), The River (ABC), Doctor Who (BBC), and as the titular lead in Joe Penhall's Moses Jones (BBC).
It was the quintessential nineties film Human Traffic, directed by Justin Kerrigan, that launched Shaun onto the big screen, becoming a firm fan favorite. He went on to star as 'Izzy' in The Mummy Returns, alongside Rachel Weisz, Dwayne Johnson and John Hannah, and opposite Dame Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett in Richard Eyre's critically acclaimed Notes on a Scandal.
His rich stage career has seen him performing in numerous West End productions such as Blue/Orange and Elmina's Kitchen, both at The Nation Theatre, and as 'Aaron the Moor' from Titus Andronicus, at the world-renowned Shakespeare's Globe.
Shaun has most recently starred as 'Frank Critchlow' in Mangrove, the first chapter in Steve McQueen's film anthology, Small Axe.
