#7: West of Memphis
This is a Peter Jackson film, along with his wife, Fran Walsh. Lorri Davis and Damien Echols are producers on the film. Amy Berg was the amazing director. This is an incredibly shot, eye-opening documentary about the West Memphis 3 - it is a MUST SEE. It chronicles in detail the atrocities that took place in the WM3 case in a way I’ve never seen before, and also provides a glimpse into the beautiful love story between Damien Echols and Lorri Davis. My bandmate Eddie Vedder worked very hard to bring this story to light and we all followed this case closely for about 16 years. I am grateful to Eddie and everyone else that saw this for what it was (a witch-hunt) and did all they could to help get these men freed. Just amazing - and a killer soundtrack too.
