His ability to play multi-layered characters, and be just the right combo of drama and comedy sets him apart from most other comedians, and he has excellent taste is projects. Weather it be The Producers, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, Hear No Evil See No Evil, or any other project he has certainly left his mark on the comedy world.
