The dark red, two-piece, bouclé wool dress Jacqueline Kennedy wore during her White House tour was a challenge for Fontaine since most people only associate the garment with the grayed-out 1960s television image. "There does in fact exist some photos of the dress in color so we were able to see the original red. But we had to make two different pieces, one red and one pink, to get just the right shade of gray for the black and white television images," Fontaine explained.
