- DirectorBob ClarkStarsPeter BillingsleyMelinda DillonDarren McGavinIn the 1940s, a young boy named Ralphie Parker attempts to convince his parents, teacher, and Santa Claus that a Red Ryder Range 200 Shot BB gun really is the perfect Christmas gift.Funny funny funny! A simple story, during a more simple time... yet the craziest things happen and those darn dogs... no real bad language here... oh fudge! LOVE this movie!
- DirectorJeremiah S. ChechikStarsChevy ChaseBeverly D'AngeloJuliette LewisThe Griswold family's plans for a big family Christmas predictably turn into a big disaster.Something about fun family chaotic Christmas movies... and this tops my list. Easily rewatchable with tons of details to check every time you view it! Even Clark's boss joins in the singing at the very end.
- DirectorJim HensonStarsJerry NelsonFrank OzMarilyn SokolA poor otter family risks everything for the chance to win the cash prize of a talent contest for Christmas.Grew up on this retelling of The Gift of the Magi that falls apart, yet somehow turns out in the end. You'll ignore all the strings and somewhat early puppetry, because the story is well done, the backgrounds are fun to look at, and the music will almost have you in tears by the end... and their just muppets! Back when Henson's studio was great and before... Disney. Look for the version Kermit hosts!
- DirectorMichael DoughertyStarsAdam ScottToni ColletteDavid KoechnerA boy who has a bad Christmas accidentally summons a festive demon to his family home.A GREAT Christmas movie with a true Christmas message. This may become a cult classic. You'll either love it or hate it an debate how it ends for months on end. The actors do a wonderful job. 90% practical effects. This is NOT a horror movie, nor slasher movie... this is a CHRISTMAS movie. Bit of language, but I LOVE IT!!! Can you tell I'm a bit demented? :P
- DirectorRichard DonnerStarsBill MurrayKaren AllenJohn ForsytheA selfish, cynical television executive is haunted by three spirits bearing lessons on Christmas Eve.Could have done without the apartheid message.. but it does show it's age. Very funny message and all the actors are simply wonderful. Bill Murray's best work... with him in the spotlight the (sigh)... whole time, still a great movie on an old premise Christmas staple.
- DirectorJon FavreauStarsWill FerrellJames CaanBob NewhartRaised as an oversized elf, Buddy travels from the North Pole to New York City to meet his biological father, Walter Hobbs, who doesn't know he exists and is in desperate need of some Christmas spirit.Wonderful, fun movie the whole family can enjoy! Watch as Will Ferrell travels to New York trying to find his real father in a hilarious hijinks of a grown man who thinks he's an... elf! Fun hijinks Christmas movie with an odd yet good morals and decent effects.
- DirectorBrian HensonStarsMichael CaineDave GoelzSteve WhitmireThe Muppets present their own touching rendition of Charles Dickens' classic tale.
- DirectorRonald NeameStarsAlbert FinneyAlec GuinnessEdith EvansA musical retelling of Charles Dickens' classic novel about an old bitter miser taken on a journey of self-redemption, courtesy of several mysterious Christmas apparitions. Not everyone likes a musical... but this has to be my favorite variation on A Christmas Carol ever.
- DirectorTrevor EvansStarsRich LittleIn this one-man show starring Rich Little, Ebeneezer Scrooge (played by Rich as W.C. Fields) hates Christmas, and it's up to the Ghosts of Christmas Past (played by Rich as Humphrey Bogart), Present (played by Rich as Columbo) and Future (played by Rich as Inspector Clouseau) to convince him otherwiseI have not seen this silly movie in decades. Used to come on HBO when I was kid. Rich Little as Tiny Tim really made this movie... and all his other impersonations! "I am standing."
- DirectorYoshiaki IwasakiStarsKen AkamatsuYu AsakawaSteve BlumKeitaro tries to confess his love for Naru. This is a bit of an obscure title from an anime series really based on college hijinks... yet they are never in college during the whole show... just trying to get IN! But as an OVA side story that does fall into the continuity of the show... this is a wonderful nonsensical anime that just happens to occur either at Christmas or New Year Night in the middle of the street. It is a bit confusing, but that's this anime's charm. Make a wish at midnight to your loved one and your wish should come true! Naru & Keitaro's fun Christmas love story. Will they finally tie the knot that started during the TV series??
