The Discovery
A year after the existence of an afterlife has been scientifically verified, the suicide toll has rapidly reached a million. Normally, one would expect a film with this subject to be horribly depressing, but somehow, in the hands of writer/director Charlie McDowell, it's a love story. As a huge fan of McDowell's The One I Love, I am excited to see how he once again bends reality enough to make it feel like these surreal events just might happen. Starring Robert Redford, Jason Segal, Rooney Mara, and Riley Keogh, the film had mixed reviews at its premiere at Sundance, but I am excited to see it (and happy it will be released in theaters and on Netflix on its release date). — Michelle
Opens in theaters and premieres on Netflix on Friday, March 31
