This movie premiered at an unfortunate time. The same year, Heat was released and got a lot more attention. Honestly, I think this movie is better than Heat. I sense... a great movie! - DirectorTaylor HackfordStarsKeanu ReevesAl PacinoCharlize TheronAn exceptionally-adept Florida lawyer is offered a job at a high-end New York City law firm with a high-end boss--the biggest opportunity of his career to date.9.2/10:
His only horror movie. You can tell he had a lot of fun with this, and so did I. The most surprising thing is how creepy it was. You scared me, Pacino! The cinematography is incredibly gorgeous too. - DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsLeonardo DiCaprioBrad PittMargot RobbieA faded television actor and his stunt double strive to achieve fame and success in the final years of Hollywood's Golden Age in 1969 Los Angeles.9.2/10:
He's not in that that much, but he's still terrific for the little screentime he has. And the movie is highly recommended seeing for anyone who loves Tarantino. - DirectorMike NewellStarsAl PacinoJohnny DeppMichael MadsenAn FBI undercover agent infiltrates the mob and finds himself identifying more with the Mafia life--at the expense of his regular one.9/10:
The second most emotionally intense gangster flick of his next to Carlito's Way. You feel so bad for his character, and Johnny Depp himself gives the greatest performance of his career. - DirectorJames FoleyStarsAl PacinoJack LemmonAlec BaldwinAn examination of the machinations behind the scenes at a real estate office.9/10:
Nonstop entertaining dark comedy and real estate salesmen. Not really a subject I'm interested in, but the cast of characters are so colorful and expertly acted you don't need to be an expert to be having a blast. Of course though, the best one of all is Al Pacino, perfectly walking the fine line between a man of authority and someone who cares about how you feel, could be your friend. One of his best few comedy performances. - DirectorDavid Gordon GreenStarsAl PacinoHolly HunterHarmony KorineLeft heartbroken by the woman he loved and lost many years ago, Manglehorn, an eccentric small-town locksmith, tries to start his life over again with the help of a new friend.9/10:
This movie got mixed reviews, and unjustly so. This is one of his most hearfelt performances to date. - DirectorFrancis Ford CoppolaStarsAl PacinoRobert De NiroRobert DuvallThe early life and career of Vito Corleone in 1920s New York City is portrayed, while his son, Michael, expands and tightens his grip on the family crime syndicate.8.7/10:
I found it a little slow in some parts... Other than that, it was great. - DirectorWarren BeattyStarsWarren BeattyMadonnaAl PacinoThe comic strip detective finds his life vastly complicated when Breathless Mahoney makes advances towards him while he is trying to battle Big Boy Caprice's united mob.One of the funniest roles that Al Pacino has ever had. The look of the film is also very stylish and nicely colorful. 8.5/10
- DirectorArthur HillerStarsAl PacinoDyan CannonTuesday WeldWhile facing the stress of his play being produced on Broadway, a playwright deals with having to raise his son, his stepdaughters, and his stepsons.8.4/10:
You will be missed, Arthur Hiller.
This solid comedy delivers both on the laughs as well as on the feels. I also like how the kids in this movie swear naturally. - DirectorHugh HudsonStarsAl PacinoDonald SutherlandNastassja KinskiA trapper and his young son get pulled into the American revolution early as unwilling participants and remain involved through to the end.8.4/10:
I find it hard to believe this movie was so bad it ruined Pacino's career. I thought it was really, really good. The most underrated movie he's ever done. - DirectorAndrew NiccolStarsAl PacinoCatherine KeenerRachel RobertsA producer's film is endangered when his star walks off, so he decides to digitally create an actress to substitute for the star, becoming an overnight sensation that everyone thinks is a real person.8.4/10:
Funny, witty but depressing satire on the artificial nature of celebrity obsession. - DirectorAl PacinoStarsAl PacinoAlec BaldwinKevin SpaceyAl Pacino's deeply-felt rumination on Shakespeare's significance and relevance to the modern world through interviews and an in-depth analysis of "Richard III."8.3/10:
A very good documentary! It's an ambitious subject, and Al Pacino does a great job directing it. And while he's himself in most of the movie, he's fantastic in the scenes where he's acting (doing the Richard III play). A must for all fans of Pacino. - StarsAl PacinoMeryl StreepEmma ThompsonSeveral disparate but connected individuals go through the AIDS crisis in the mid-1980s.8.3/10:
While flawed, this is still an engaging and well-acted mini-series, with Pacino playing a bitterly tragic character to absolute perfection. - DirectorDavid F. WheelerStarsAl PacinoPaul GuilfoyleJoseph MaherTwo symbiotic sociopaths play obscurely deviant mind games with each other while engaging in perversely brutal acts of violence against victims apparently chosen at random.8.2/10:
It's that odd independent project which people saw and were confused by afterwards. But while others think the confusing tone is a bad thing, I think that's the appeal. There's something mysterious about it which I can't quite explain. Don't knock it, give it a chance and judge for yourself. - DirectorHarold BeckerStarsAl PacinoEllen BarkinJohn GoodmanA detective investigating a series of murders becomes involved with a woman who may be the culprit.8.2/10:
Suspenseful and also more romantic than I expected. Has some great lines as well: "COME THE WET ASS HOUR, I'M *EVERYBODY'S* DADDY!" - DirectorRoger DonaldsonStarsAl PacinoColin FarrellBridget MoynahanA brilliant young CIA trainee is asked by his mentor to help find a mole in the Agency.8.2/10:
Predictable, but very entertaining spy movie. - DirectorSydney PollackStarsAl PacinoMarthe KellerAnny DupereyBobby Deerfield, a famous American race car driver on the European circuit, falls in love with the enigmatic Lillian Morelli, who is terminally ill.8/10: Slowpaced, but very moving and one of Pacino's lowkey tearjerkers. He and Marthe Keller have BRILLIANT chemistry together, playing the couple that couldn't be any more different from each other, but still feel a deep love for each other underneath.
- DirectorBarry LevinsonStarsAl PacinoBrenda VaccaroJohn GoodmanA look at the life and work of doctor-assisted suicide advocate Jack Kevorkian.8/10:
Touches a very sensitive subject successfully. It's one of those movies which really makes you think afterwards. - DirectorJerry SchatzbergStarsAl PacinoKitty WinnAlan VintFollows the lives of heroin addicts who frequent "Needle Park" in New York City.8/10:
If any movie should convince you to never do drugs, it's this one! A good early look into Pacino's acting career. - DirectorSidney LumetStarsAl PacinoJohn RandolphJack KehoeAn honest New York cop named Frank Serpico blows the whistle on rampant corruption in the force only to have his comrades turn against him.8/10:
A disturbing look at police force corruption. Serpico was a hero, and Pacino does an honor to him with his portrayal. - DirectorMichael MannStarsAl PacinoRobert De NiroVal KilmerA group of high-end professional thieves start to feel the heat from the LAPD when they unknowingly leave a verbal clue at their latest heist.8/10:
It's pretty good, but one of his more overrated movies. The excellent acting by Pacino, Robert De Niro and Val Kilmer made it worth an 8. - DirectorOliver StoneStarsAl PacinoDennis QuaidCameron DiazA behind-the-scenes look at the life-and-death struggles of modern-day gladiators and those who lead them.8/10:
So good it almost makes me care about sports. - DirectorBarry LevinsonStarsAl PacinoKathy BakerKenneth MaharajPenn State football coach Joe Paterno becomes embroiled in a sexual abuse scandal.8/10:
Slowpaced? Oh, you bet. But the incredible transformation Pacino makes into becoming Paterno can be comparable to Robert De Niro at his most method actiest. Truly astonishing. - DirectorFrancis Ford CoppolaStarsAl PacinoDiane KeatonAndy GarciaFollows Michael Corleone, now in his 60s, as he seeks to free his family from crime and find a suitable successor to his empire.8/10:
Come on, people. Godfather 3 was really not that bad. - DirectorBarry LevinsonStarsAl PacinoGreta GerwigNina AriandaA stage actor who is slowly losing his mind engages in a relationship with a sexually confused younger woman.7.9/10:
A nice little black comedy with a really entertaining performance by Al Pacino, perfectly playing up the deliberate absurdities of the plot. Ending kinda sucked though. - DirectorRidley ScottStarsLady GagaAdam DriverAl PacinoWhen Patrizia Reggiani, an outsider from humble beginnings, marries into the Gucci family, her unbridled ambition begins to unravel their legacy and triggers a reckless spiral of betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately...murder.7.8/10:
Gaga's performance is uneven at times, but as a whole I thought she worked well enough. However, it's Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons and most of all Al Pacino who really steal the show. Adam Driver also does a good job as usual. - DirectorMichael RadfordStarsAl PacinoJoseph FiennesLynn CollinsIn 16th century Venice, when a merchant must default on a large loan from an abused Jewish moneylender for a friend with romantic ambitions, the bitterly vengeful creditor demands a gruesome payment instead.7.5/10:
Interesting movie, mostly due to Pacino's fantastic performance. I love how he reads Shakespeare, with such passion and confidence in the words.
The length is overbearing however and some scenes are boring which is why the rating isn't higher, but still a solid adaption of a classic play, and they couldn't have gotten anyone better to play Shylock. - DirectorFisher StevensStarsAl PacinoChristopher WalkenAlan ArkinA pair of aging stickup men try to get the old gang back together for one last hurrah before one of the guys takes his last assignment - to kill his comrade.7.5/10:
Sure it has some flaws and the ending felt a bit rushed, but I thought it was enjoyable for what it was. It's really more about friendships than about crime life. - DirectorBryan BuckleyStarsAl PacinoEvan PetersMelanie GriffithIn 2008, rookie journalist Jay Bahadur forms a half-baked plan to embed himself with the pirates of Somalia. He ultimately succeeds in providing the first close-up look into who these men are, how they live, and the forces that drive them.7.5/10:
Pacino isn't in a lot, but he plays a fun character and the rest of the movie is still enjoyable, if not perfect. - DirectorJon AvnetStarsRobert De NiroAl PacinoCarla GuginoTwo veteran New York City detectives work on a case of serial executions of criminals who escaped justice.7/10:
Surprisingly enough it's Robert De Niro who steals the show instead, but Pacino was still good in it. The Razzie nomination was very unwarranted. - DirectorHarold BeckerStarsAl PacinoJohn CusackBridget FondaThe accidental shooting of a boy in New York leads to an investigation by the Deputy Mayor, and unexpectedly far-reaching consequences.7/10:
All over the place (I still couldn't figure out the plot one hour into the movie) and kinda disappointing, but solid for a time passer and it's a load of fun seeing Pacino play the mayor. John Cusack and Bridget Fonda are also good as usual. - DirectorShintaro ShimosawaStarsJosh DuhamelAnthony HopkinsAl PacinoWhen an ambitious young lawyer takes on a big case against a powerful and ruthless executive of a large pharmaceutical company, he soon finds himself involved in a case of blackmail and corruption.6.8/10:
It wasn't awful, but I expected much more. You can watch it once, but is not very suitable for repeated viewings. - DirectorDaniel AlgrantStarsAl PacinoTéa LeoniRyan O'NealA New York press agent must scramble when his major client becomes embroiled in a huge scandal.6/10:
The first 30 minutes are great.
The rest of it makes me scratch my head. I was pretty irritated after watching it I'll admit, since the plot could've been handled much better with a more competent screenwriter.
Eh. It's okay. - DirectorD.J. CarusoStarsMatthew McConaugheyAl PacinoRene RussoAfter suffering a career-ending knee injury, a former college football star aligns himself with one of the most renowned touts in the sports-gambling business.6/10:
Good humor and acting (from the *first* lead), but a dull plot and awful acting from Matthew McConaughey makes this one forgettable. - DirectorJon AvnetStarsAl PacinoAlicia WittBen McKenzieOn the day that a serial killer that he helped put away is supposed to be executed, a noted forensic psychologist and college professor receives a call informing him that he has 88 minutes left to live.5.5/10:
I didn't even hate it, it's simply another case of squandered potential. The first half hour is promising, but as the movie goes on less and less starts to make sense, not to mention Pacino and William Forsythe are the only good actors here. The rest of them are terrible, especially Alicia Witt and Leelee Sobeiski. - DirectorJohnny MartinStarsAl PacinoKarl UrbanBrittany SnowA homicide detective brings his partner out of retirement to help catch a serial killer whose crimes are based on the children's game Hangman.3.3/10:
By far the worst one next to Son Of No One. The ONLY reason this doesn't rank as low is because it actually does have kind of a story. As poorly developed as it is. - DirectorDito MontielStarsChanning TatumAl PacinoJuliette BinocheA young cop is assigned to a precinct in the working class neighborhood where he grew up, and an old secret threatens to destroy his life and his family.3/10:
Oh my God, I fucking hate this lazily written pretentious piece of shit! FUCK THIS MOVIE!
