How will moviegoers like Independence Day: Resurgence, especially in comparison to the original?
All the things that viewers loved from the original film, like the love story between the President and his wife, and David Levinson and Connie, they're all present in some form in the new movie, either through the presence of the children or their families. The humor from the original film between David Levinson (Jeff Goldblum) and his father (Judd Hirsch) is still there. Everything that made the original so appealing is in this one. But it is a different time. We do live in a different world; and so, the movie addresses the issue of what a coalition of countries would look like in the future and what a defense force would be like. In our day-to-day, technology is becoming fast and becoming a big part of our lives. Technology can be both a benefit and a detriment -- if we rely too much on it or abuse it. These things are explored in the sequel.
