"We pitched the show to [Donner] and he said, ‘Great. But if you don't have the guys, you're screwed’,” recalls showrunner Miller.
"So right off the bat, we knew that the casting was going to be everything. It’s a challenge, because two guys — Mel Gibson and Danny Glover — played these roles really, really famously, and to find people that were not only going to have chemistry with each other but make you forget about those two was kind of the biggest challenge of the pilot."
