Face-Off: "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be" vs. "The Rains of Castamere"
The two most popular TV shows of the modern era of television, and two of the most shocking and talked about TV episodes of all time. "The Rains of Castamere", the ninth episode of the third season of HBO's hit fantasy show Game of Thrones, showed (once again) that no one is safe in George R. R. Martin's universe, and in a rather brutal way proved that the show is the most unpredictable thing on television right now. A beloved family is brutally slaughtered in an event that changed the series forever, causing such commotion never before seen among tv fans and regular viewers.
AMC's fever (pun intended) drama horror series The Walking Dead premiered its seventh season in the most controversial way possible. "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be" finally introduced one of the most infamous comic book villains of all time to its small screen adaptation, and it caused a lot of buzz. Two fan-favorite main characters met their fate in a sequence that is, by far, the most gruesome and violent event the show has ever produced. Blood, tears and a baseball bat covered in barbed wire made this episode one that no one will forget easily.
So, in your opinion, between a wedding gone wrong and a not-so-great surprise encounter with a baseball bat wielding psychopath, which was the deadliest event of this age of tv?
