Disney Classics ranked Best to Worst
My personal ranking of the Disney animated classics(I haven't seen any of the Winnie the Pooh movies or a couple of the 1940s short stories put together in one film). Disney have a very good track record. Although there are quite a few that have some issues, I only dislike two of them!

- DirectorChris BuckJennifer LeeStarsKristen BellIdina MenzelJonathan GroffFearless optimist Anna teams up with rugged mountain man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven in an epic journey to find Anna's sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter.Frozen is everywhere, I mean absolutely everywhere! It's overhyped as hell, but don't let that spoil your experience. It is a nice film, with memorable characters, and definitely memorable songs. It's not necessarily one of Disney's best, but it is worth a watch!
- DirectorByron HowardChris WilliamsStarsJohn TravoltaMiley CyrusSusie EssmanThe canine star of a fictional sci-fi/action show that believes his powers are real embarks on a cross country trek to save his co-star from a threat he believes is just as real.A nice movie, with a likable cast of characters, but honestly not overly memorable. The tone and animation style makes it feel like it's by DreamWorks, rather than Disney. That's no complaint, it's just that there's something truly Disney that's lacking here somehow!
- DirectorJohn LounsberyWolfgang ReithermanArt StevensStarsBob NewhartEva GaborGeraldine PageTwo mice of the Rescue Aid Society search for a little girl kidnapped by unscrupulous treasure hunters.A very unique premise executed very well, The Rescuers is somewhat underrated, however the villains are some of the weakest I've seen in any Disney movie, and aren't really worth remembering. Luckily, our protagonists definitely are worth remembering!
- DirectorWolfgang ReithermanClyde GeronimiDavid HandStarsRickie SorensenSebastian CabotKarl SwensonA poor boy named Arthur learns the power of love, kindness, knowledge and bravery with the help of a wizard called Merlin in the path to become one of the most beloved kings in English history. The Sword in the Stone is by far the weakest Disney classic with the 3-act structure to be released when Walt was around. That doesn't mean it's a bad movie, on the contrary, it is really good. However, I don't know too many people who'd put this in their top ten, and I don't think it's left as much of an impact as most Disney films!
- DirectorJames AlgarClyde GeronimiJack KinneyStarsBing CrosbyBasil RathboneEric BloreAn animated adaptation of "The Wind in the Willows" followed by an adaptation of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow".Mr Toad is a marvelous work of art, whilst Ichabod is lacking most of what I was expecting. I was really intrigued to see how Disney would tell such a dark and adult story, and most of the dark material is pretty lacking. It tends just to be a love story narrated by Bing Crosby.
- DirectorJack KinneyHamilton LuskeWilliam MorganStarsEdgar BergenDinah ShoreLuana PattenJiminy Cricket hosts two Disney animated shorts: "Bongo," about a circus bear escaping to the wild, and "Mickey and the Beanstalk," a take on the famous fairy tale.
- DirectorMike GabrielEric GoldbergStarsMel GibsonLinda HuntChristian BaleAn English soldier and the daughter of an Algonquin chief share a romance when English colonists invade seventeenth century Virginia.Nice, but historically inaccurate and lacking a lot of the fun, and sense of humour that Disney is famous for!
- DirectorMark DindalStarsDavid SpadeJohn GoodmanEartha KittEmperor Kuzco is turned into a llama by his ex-administrator Yzma, and must now regain his throne with the help of Pacha, the gentle llama herder. It suffers from a lot of the flaws that Hercules suffered from, however the pop culture gags don't annoy me as much here, the humour is actually pretty hilarious and the two villains are absolutely wonderful.
- DirectorNorman FergusonClyde GeronimiJack KinneyStarsAurora MirandaCarmen MolinaDora LuzDonald receives his birthday gifts, which include traditional gifts and information about Brazil (hosted by Zé Carioca) and Mexico (by Panchito, a Mexican Charro Rooster). Most of this doesn't really have much of a plot. It's one of those package movies from the 1940s. Pretty decent, but nothing spectacular!
- DirectorGeorge ScribnerStarsJoey LawrenceBilly JoelCheech MarinA lost and alone kitten joins a gang of dogs engaged in petty larceny in New York City. This is basically Oliver Twist with animals in 1980s New York, no more, no less. It's quite a good movie, and I do like it, but there aren't really that many surprises. If the premise peeks your interest, you'll enjoy it fine!
- DirectorTed BermanRichard RichStarsGrant BardsleyFreddie JonesSusan SheridanA young boy and a group of misfit friends embark on a quest to find a dark magic item of ultimate power before a diabolical tyrant can.The Black Cauldron is famous for being very dark, and lacking the warm Disney charm. While there is no denying that, it isn't without it's merits. The animation is pretty decent, some.of the imagery is great, and it may just have a little more to offer than most may think!
- DirectorRon ClementsJohn MuskerStarsTate DonovanSusan EganJames WoodsThe son of Zeus and Hera is stripped of his immortality as an infant and must become a true hero in order to reclaim it.People love this movie. As for me, I feel as though it's far too chock a block with pop culture gags that I find it quite obnoxious at times. A lot of the gags are satirising commercialism, and while many may consider that rather humorous, it takes me out of the Ancient Greek setting. That being said, when Hercules is just being Hercules, it does make for some rather entertaining moments, and James Woods is a very funny villain.
- DirectorMark DindalStarsZach BraffJoan CusackGarry MarshallAfter ruining his reputation with the town, a courageous chicken must come to the rescue of his fellow citizens when aliens start an invasion.Chicken Little gets slammed as if it were the spawn of Satan. It may be full of pop culture gags, and has a weird sense of humour that doesn't really work, but it's really not that bad. I used to really like it as a kid, and whilst I may consider it one of Disney's weakest, I think it's decent enough.
- DirectorWill FinnJohn SanfordStarsJudi DenchCuba Gooding Jr.Jennifer TillyTo save their farm, the resident animals go bounty hunting for a notorious outlaw. There is no Disney movie quite as forgettable as Home on the Range. It really isn't that bad of a movie, but won't leave much of an impact on you once it has finished. It's all very much sugar coated and overly sweet, so syrupy, it might make you sick!
- DirectorStephen J. AndersonStarsDaniel HansenWesley SingermanAngela BassettLewis is a brilliant inventor who meets mysterious stranger named Wilbur Robinson, whisking Lewis away in a time machine and together they team up to track down Bowler Hat Guy in a showdown that ends with an unexpected twist of fate.Meet the Robinsons had so much potential. It really should have been a good movie, and for the first 20 minutes, it lived up to my expectations. Unfortunately, after that, it slams way down hill, into the ridiculous and obnoxious. I have never been more disappointed by a Disney movie in my life, and I think this may just be the very low point in the studios' history!
