The Walking Dead - Season 7 Review
Season rating - 7.5-good
Highlight episode - The Day Will Come When You Won't Be
MVP - Jeffrey Dean Morgan
The problem with The Walking Dead is its pacing, and whilst it knows how to deliver a great premiere - which more than made up for the cliffhanger - it always stumbles by dragging out things ridiculously. While this season did do a relatively good job at world-building, it didn't need to dedicate entire episodes to one location, as let's be honest, this show has never had the best writing and well-developed characters. Having 14 episodes of build-up with one or two episodes that stand out, all to lead to a finale which should have been brought forward to the mid-season at the very least, is primarily why this season, and the show on the whole, falters. Having said that, JDM as Negan continued to shine and I hope we can drop the filler episode count next season.
