Comic-Con Surprise of the Week
San Diego Comic-Con's famous Hall H was almost as packed with surprises as it was with fans this week, as special guests, trailers and even a puppy panelist had audiences cheering in delight.
But perhaps the biggest surprise came at the "The Defenders" panel. Jon Bernthal made an unanticipated appearance to unveil footage from Netflix spinoff series "The Punisher," and Sigourney Weaver also made an unexpected entrance to join the four Marvel heroes. But those weren't the surprises, and neither was the decision to announce a second season of "Iron Fist" — even if that drew gasps from the crowd.
The biggest shock — and cheer — came when it was revealed that the assembled crowd would be treated to a screening of the first episode of "The Defenders." The rest of the world will have to wait till Aug. 18, when the full series will become available to stream.
