- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsMatthew McConaugheyAnne HathawayJessica ChastainWhen Earth becomes uninhabitable in the future, a farmer and ex-NASA pilot, Joseph Cooper, is tasked to pilot a spacecraft, along with a team of researchers, to find a new planet for humans.Every movie Christopher Nolan has made so far are all incredible. Six of them are already masterpieces (all three Dark Knight movies, Inception, The Prestige, and Memento). Nolan's new film, Interstellar, already looks like another one. If you have watched any of the trailers for this movie, you will know what I am talking about. Stunning is only just one of the words I would use to describe it.
- DirectorDavid DobkinStarsRobert Downey Jr.Robert DuvallVera FarmigaBig-city lawyer Hank Palmer returns to his childhood home where his father, the town's judge, is suspected of murder. Hank sets out to discover the truth; along the way he reconnects with his estranged family.Robert Downey Jr.(my favorite actor) returns to making dramas. In a movie where he plays a lawyer who has to defend his father, the town's judge, (played by the legendary Robert Duvall), who is accused of murder. Family problems soon erupt between the two, in a movie that looks like it could make the typical courtroom movie dynamic again. But probably the most exciting thing about this film is that we will see these two acting greats in one movie together. Plus, I don't care what anyone says, it is about time that Downey wins an Oscar already! I don't want to predict anything this soon, but this could be the movie that could do just that.
- DirectorDavid FincherStarsBen AffleckRosamund PikeNeil Patrick HarrisWith his wife's disappearance having become the focus of an intense media circus, a man sees the spotlight turned on him when it's suspected that he may not be innocent.I haven't read the book, but from what everyone has been saying about it this is a great read. The thing that has me looking forward to this is that the great David Fincher (director of Se7en, Fight Club, and The Social Network) made it, and by the looks of it, this movie looks like it will be an amazing thriller. Which is something that is very needed in today's movie climate.
- DirectorFrancis LawrenceStarsJennifer LawrenceJosh HutchersonLiam HemsworthKatniss Everdeen is in District 13 after she shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta and a nation moved by her courage.Jennifer Lawrence returns as Katniss Everdeen, in the first part to the finale of the Hunger Games series. I usually don't like young adult based book adaptations. But after seeing The Hunger Games: Catching Fire with my Dad last year, we both can't wait to see what happens next.
- DirectorAlejandro G. IñárrituStarsMichael KeatonZach GalifianakisEdward NortonA washed-up superhero actor attempts to revive his fading career by writing, directing, and starring in a Broadway production. Here's the odd movie in this list. Michael Keaton plays an aging actor who once played a fictionalized super hero called Birdman. Does this sound oddly familiar? It should, if you know the Batman movies well. Because before Christian Bale became the best Batman, Michael Keaton was the definitive version of the character up until that point. That alone, as well as the interesting story of the movie, is enough for me to want to see it.
