Top 17 Films That Should Be Given A New Remake/Reboot/Adaptation

by Rocketeer_Raccoon | created - 24 Sep 2015 | updated - 01 Feb 2017 | Public

Hollywood, stop remaking films that are classics and don't need to be remade. Instead they should remake flawed films that didn't work out the first time around or ones that were never good to begin with. Just give the film into the right hands and then everything will be golden. Here are my top 17 films that deserve a proper reworking.

All I want is a straight solid readaptation of Mary Shelley's masterpiece "Frankenstein; Or, The Modern Prometheus" without deviating from the source material, that means nothing changed and nothing added.

I personally think they should take inspiration from the 1983 cartoon. The story should be about a group of young friends who get together to play a game of Dungeons & Dragons, however something out of the ordinary that came with the board game causes them to get sucked into the fantasy world, the characters become the roles they had chosen prior to them and are greeted by the Dungeon Master for if they want to return home, they must go on a grand quest.

Seriously, why hasn't this been newly adapted yet? Plus if they do get round to it, re-release the classic Queen song with it or remix the song.

9. Battlefield Earth (2000)

9 Metascore

It's the year 3000 A.D., and the Earth is lost to the alien race of Psychlos. Humanity is enslaved by these gold-thirsty tyrants, who are unaware that their 'man-animals' are about to ignite the rebellion of a lifetime.

Director: Roger Christian | Stars: John Travolta, Forest Whitaker, Barry Pepper, Kim Coates

Votes: 83,103 | Gross: $21.47M

As a new adaptation from the original book, you'll be stupid to base a new movie from this movie that's a pile of poo.

10. Masters of the Universe (1987)

Votes: 62,993 | Gross: $20.92M

If Nintendo allows for a new Super Mario Bros. movie to be made and given to someone who can do it right, this time make it faithful to the games.

17. Red Sonja (1985)

PG-13 | 89 min | Action, Adventure, Fantasy

35 Metascore

The fearless warrior Red Sonja sets out to avenge her family's murder and rid her kingdom from the tyrannical rule of evil Queen Gedren.

Director: Richard Fleischer | Stars: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Brigitte Nielsen, Sandahl Bergman, Paul L. Smith

Votes: 44,895 | Gross: $6.95M

Although the best highlight of the 1985 film is Arnold Schwarzenegger but the film is very flawed and could do with a modern make-over anyway.
