Zachary Levi Reveals the Premise of "Heroes Reborn"3 of 4
IMDb: The original series ended with Claire telling the press that she, and many other people, have superpowers. What's the set up for the new show?
ZL: It’s definitely trying to get back to where the series started. A lot of the moodiness, the darkness, and the heart. A year before you meet all of the characters in the first episode, essentially to the day, this massive incident happens that's essentially likened to a terrorist attack, an attack that is blamed on Evos, which is the name for people with abilities, evolved humans. Thousands of people die, including my son. And [my wife and I] go off the rails in grief, and we kind of take it upon ourselves to go on this year-long journey of vengeance for personal retribution. But also, I think, Luke is rationalizing to himself, the world is a safer, better place without Evos, because you can't trust them.
