October Picks: The Movies and TV You Can't Miss18 of 27
The Trial of the Chicago 7 | Premieres Friday, Oct. 16 on Netflix
Plot: What was supposed to be a peaceful protest at the 1968 Democratic National Convention turns into a violent clash with the police and subsequent milestone trial.
Our Take: Sometimes movies that recreate historical events look like explosions at a wig factory, and they have the allure of a video embedded on a Wikipedia page. But the current political climate in the U.S., combined with a courtroom full of actors I appreciate, has me curious to see how writer Aaron Sorkin fares in his second outing as a director. — Arno
