November Picks: The Movies and TV You Can't Miss
17 of 21
Belushi | Premieres Sunday, November 22, on Showtime
Plot: Using previously unheard audiotapes recorded shortly after John Belushi's death, director R.J. Cutler's documentary examines the too-short life of the once-in-a-generation talent who captured the hearts and funny bones of devoted audiences.
Our Take: As a kid in the 1970s, I got an idea of what love between friends could be like while watching John Belushi and Gilda Radner cut loose together on "SNL." Belushi's public life is a cautionary tale, but Belushi the documentary doesn't seem interested in mining that exhausted territory, opting instead to reveal the private connections he made with those who loved him and spent time in his orbit. — Arno
