One day, he tricks the kind old lady that owns him into opening the window, and she also leaves the door to his cage open. Freedom! But it's not all it's cracked up to be; the other birds are either cuckoos (complete with Napoleon hat) or shun him, the rain comes and there's no shelter, and a cat is skulking around. After a series of narrow escapes, the canary is more than happy to dash home to the nice warm fire.

- DirectorHugh HarmanStarsDorothy ComptonHarland EvansMartha WentworthBunnies, turtles, and other small woodland animals play. A skunk sits apart, singing "I ain't got nobody" and mopes his way home. His mother, Mrs. O. Dora Skunk, sings of her love to her large brood. That's enough for them, but not for our hero, Stinky. He spots a hairbrush and decides that's all he needs to do; he dashes out, and everyone runs away (including a turtle who apparently discovered his inner turbo-charger). A girl bunny with a cold finds Stinky's hat and returns it to him. They play: he pushes her on a swing. This attracts a bobcat with a black stereotype voice. The bobcat chases, but runs away when encountering Stinky. He strips off several layers of shirt, then finds a discarded perfume bottle, douses himself, and goes to douse Stinky. This neutralizes the smell, and he resumes chasing. The bunny runs home to her mother, but the rabbit mother throws Stinky out. Stinky runs home to his mother, who confronts the bobcat, which runs away. Now Stinky gladly joins his siblings in song.

- DirectorHugh HarmanStarsThe Guardsmen QuartetBernice HansenRudolf IsingA dark and stormy night in a drugstore. The druggist mixes a potion and falls asleep. The skull-and-crossbones on the bottle comes to life and drips the potion on the druggist, shrinking him. The baby bottles start crying (in three-part harmony). The druggist lights a lantern, then plays a perfume atomizer like bagpipes, bringing a bottle of Scotch Whiskey to life. Other bottles that come alive include smelling salts, bath salts, Listerine, perfume, india ink (doing a snake charmer bit with some Cobra toothpaste). A Dutch boy and girl go figure skating on a mirror, with help from some talcum-powder snow. The druggist wraps a pipe around himself and plays it as a tuba. The skull and crossbones hatch a nefarious scheme, helped by the witch hazel and spirits of ammonia ghosts. He gets sent through distilling apparatus and is otherwise mangled and then he wakes up.

The black one noses around a stack of sandwiches and a roast turkey, and gets scolded; his brother gets praised, but that's only because he's sneakier. They pull away, and a fox hunt passes by. Panicked by the horses, they outrun everyone, even the fox. The fox hides, and they spot him before the others. One old bloodhound does a Tarzan stunt and leaps to the head of the pack. Lots of other fox hunt sequences follow. Ultimately, the puppies get back to the car just as everyone is leaving; the fox hitches a ride on the spare tire on the back of the car.

- DirectorRudolf IsingStarsBernice HansenMartha WentworthLittle Cheeser is a young mouse who thinks he's more grown up than he is. Mama tells him to go to bed, calling him "Mama's little man"; he doesn't want to. His devil side emerges and guides him to the cheese in the pantry, where his angel side appears to stop him. The devil leads him on to the smoking supplies, where he lights a pipe, then to a racy magazine, and then to the booze. The soused Cheeser goes looking for the cat, but when he finds it, the reality sobers him up quickly. The devil, meanwhile, has been trapped in a copy of Dante's Inferno by the angel. The angel helps Cheeser escape, and he's all too happy to go to bed and be Mama's little man.

- DirectorRudolf IsingStarsBarbara BrewsterGloria BrewsterRosemary DeCampThe cat of the house has his nap interrupted when two puppies, playing with a balloon, hit him with it. He chases the pups, crashing into vases and the like. He sneaks off in time for the puppies to get blamed and thrown outside. But the gate isn't latched solidly; they get outside and it latches behind them. They run away from the dogcatcher and start exploring another dog's yard until the big mean looking (but chained up) bulldog chases them off. They get him wrap his chain around a tree while they make off with his bone, and it's a race now with some other dogs, the dogcatcher, the bulldog (now dragging his house) all chasing and traffic crashing every which way. The parade runs into a dog show, then out, with all the dogs chasing. Time passes, into the evening, and people on the home front are getting worried. The cat starts exploring and finds a dog fight at the city dump, where dozens of dogs have the pups cornered. The cat takes them all on and leads the pups home.

- DirectorRudolf IsingStarsBarbara BrewsterGloria BrewsterEsther CampbellThe big bantamweight fight is in a few months, and papa rooster is getting nervous. But the eggs start hatching, and all the males look like real fighters except one little runt, who can't even hatch on his own. They all march off to training, where most of them do very well at treadmill, shadow boxing, etc., but the runt would rather make shadow puppets than shadow box. July 4, the fight arrives. The champion manages to knock all his opponents out of the ring; the only challenger left is, of course, the runt. He manages to duck and weave (in sheer terror) for a while, but is eventually knocked out near his corner. While he's down, a bottle of liniment drips into his open mouth; it turns him into a real dynamo, and he wins the crown.
- DirectorRobert AllenStarsBilly BletcherJeanne DunneShirley ReedMama has everyone working on spring cleaning, or so she thinks; in fact, everyone's slacking off in various ways. The Captain is the only one to get caught and face her wrath, though. To escape, he fakes illness, but the boys catch him at it. Mama calls the doctor; the boys intercept him and impersonate him. They get revealed, but so does the Captain, and Mama puts him to work doing everyone's job.
- DirectorWilliam HannaStarsBilly BletcherPinto ColvigMartha WentworthThe Captain, after much wrestling with his alarm clock, finally wakes up to discover there's no buttons (for suspenders) on his ding-busted pants. He chews out Mama; she tells him if he doesn't like the housekeeping, he can do it himself, and storms out. What follows is pretty much the usual bunch of man-keeping-house jokes: a voracious vacuum, an overflowing sink, crashing dishes, and a dozen crises at once. And still no buttons on the pants.
- DirectorFriz FrelengStarsMel BlancBilly BletcherPinto ColvigThe ducks and chickens next door eye the Captain's garden covetously through a poorly mended fence. The Captain, armed with a board, is standing guard (but not fixing the fence). He falls asleep, and the poultry attack, stripping the garden methodically. When the Captain comes after them, they lock him into a shed. He gets out, and fetches his shotgun. That stops them, and they drop their booty, until the Captain sets his gun down to collect the veggies; the birds all rush in, snatch them back, and slam the gate. Except there's a straggler: one tiny chick struggling with a huge tomato. The Captain catches him, and even though the chick puts the tomato back, the Captain gives him a cute little spanking. The chick runs home and tells daddy (of course, in his version, the chick was a saint); the word is passed to ever-larger roosters, until one that's even larger than the Captain goes to settle the score. After some posturing, they fight (to the storm sequence from the William Tell Overture). The Captain is knocked out, and awakes to discover it was a dream, but he's still got the original battle with the poultry - one he finally loses as he knocks down the fence.
- DirectorRobert AllenStarsBilly BletcherPinto ColvigMartha WentworthThe mangiest pup at Pete's Pooch Palace catches the Captain's eye. He takes it home, but Mama is less than thrilled; she forbids it to stay in the house. The Captain pretends to put it out, but hides it under his coat. At the dinner table, though, it is soon exposed. Confined to the back yard, the dog howls the night away. The Captain is sent outside to quiet it, but is too tired to make it out the door. He finally gets there and sneaks the dog back inside to his own bed. The dog sees the Captain's foot and seizes it like a rabbit, waking both the Captain and Mama. Exiled to the hallway, Hamlet (as the dog is now known) spots a mouse and chases it into the trap, giving the Captain in idea. He releases the mouse into Mama's room, then sends Hamlet in to chase it into the trap, and Hamlet is declared a hero. Misunderstanding, Hamlet rounds up a whole mouse family, getting both him and the Captain exiled to the back yard.
- DirectorFriz FrelengStarsMel BlancBilly BletcherPinto ColvigThe whole family is at the beach for an outing, and each is having their own little adventure. The Captain fights the sun with his beach umbrella, in an attempt to nap. Grandpa tries to build a sand castle, but the waves keep wiping it out. Mama, after trying to defend her picnic basket, tries dipping a cautious toe into the big bad ocean, eventually needing to be rescued by the Captain. And the kids, naturally, are cooking up mischief. Their first target is that picnic basket, but their plan to use a pelican backfires when a lobster cuts the rope they were using. Then they set out to enjoy the water, but their "borrowing" the bottom of the safety rowboat has bad consequences later.
- DirectorWilliam HannaStarsBilly BletcherShirley ReedRobert WinklerThe Captain and Inspector are hunting lions in Africa, though their attempts to sneak up are hampered by alarm clocks and squeaky shoes. Fortunately, there's a lion ready for them: it's the boys, dressed in a lion costume, with an "ah-ooga" horn for the roar. They're soon chasing the Captain, when their costume gets stuck and pulled off. The captain comes in to the costume after them, but the boys manage to tie him up. Before long they've run into a real (sleeping) lion. They provoke it (in costume), and get its head stuck in a hollow log. Then they go taunt the Captain again and bring him over to the log, where the lion is still stuck; he whacks it with a board and pulls it out, then tries to remove the costume when the boys walk up behind him. The inevitable chase starts slowly, then speeds into a cave.
- DirectorFriz FrelengStarsBilly BletcherPinto ColvigThe Captain runs a safari business. He sets off to catch a live pygmy, with help from a tracking dog, but the dog isn't the world's most efficient, distracted first by some flowers, then when he actually encounters a pygmy, by the bone in his hair. Ultimately, he buries the pygmy; the Captain comes chasing along. With this crew, the pygmy's in no danger. Eventually, the pygmy swaps clothes with the Inspector; he runs off and grabs his whole tribe, and the safari crew takes off.
- DirectorWilliam HannaStarsBilly BletcherPinto ColvigMartha WentworthEngine Co. No. 1 is replacing faithful fire horse Old Smokey with a new engine, which Der Captain is very proud of. He soon gets a chance to test it, when his panicked wife calls; unfortunately, he's still learning how to use it, and damages the ladder upon hitting a tree. As he finally arrives, the ladder extends to its full range, with the Captain on top and most of the rungs missing. Fortunately, Old Smokey and the Inspector are plodding along nearby to bring Smokey to his retirement farm; Smokey smells the smoke, which whips him into action. Smokey saves the house, Mama, the Captain, and, in the process, himself.
- DirectorRobert AllenStarsMel BlancBilly BletcherHarry LangWhile the Captain is fishing, the kids plant a treasure map on his hook. The rather dim Captain follows it to the island, where the kids have made it easy for him to find what they've prepared. But what they weren't prepared for was Long John Silver, who's followed the Captain and kidnaps him and the treasure chest. The kids head for Silver's ship to help the Captain. Fortunately, what's waiting for John in the treasure chest is a wildcat, which keeps him busy (despite breaks for the ice cream man and a low-flying plane) while the kids untie the Captain. His gratitude is short-lived, when he discovers they were responsible for the whole adventure.
- DirectorBurt GillettStarsElvia AllmanMel BlancBilly BletcherJohn Silver's ship has been repossessed; the Captain and the Kids have won $100,000 in a lottery. Silver dresses as an old lady and pretends to faint on the Captain's porch. He is taken inside and soon finds the winning ticket. Meanwhile, the kids spotted him outside and dress themselves as a young lady and come on to Silver, eventually handcuffing him to a batch of fireworks.
- DirectorFriz FrelengStarsMel BlancBilly BletcherPinto ColvigLong John Silver forces the Captain to bet his house in a cockfight. It's John's champion rooster, the Honduras Hurricane, versus the Captain's: a scrawny bird with a bad cold. The boys replace the sick bird with a violent baby eagle.
- DirectorFriz FrelengStarsCharles BennettMel BlancBilly BletcherThe Captain is playing Santa; John and his henchmen stick him up and take over, but John breaks all the toys. They go into town and sing, so badly that people throw things at them to get them to to stop.
- DirectorFriz FrelengStarsMel BlancBilly BletcherMelvin J. GibbyAs a narrator describes the scene, we watch the whole Katzenjammer clan camping in the park of the title, a composite of several national parks in the western USA. There are several spot gags, including Mama taking a picture of a bear and ending up being photographed by several bears. Mama has a run-in with the law for picking a flower; The Captain has his own for feeding a bear, which turns out to be a ranger/cop in disguise. Also featured are the many geysers, where the boys fetch water for the radiator; it erupts, both there and in The Captain's belly after he drinks some.
- DirectorFriz FrelengStarsMel BlancBilly BletcherDon BrodieA trained seal has escaped from the Jingling Brothers circus; there's a $100,000 reward. Both the Captain and John Silver hear this news, as does the seal. They show up, offering the seal a ride to wherever she wants to go; home to the arctic, as it happens. The Captain wins round one, grabbing the seal while John is engaged in a fight with yet another reward seeker. But John's got a few tricks up his sleeve, primarily the seal suit he dresses up in that fools the seal briefly and the Captain for a bit longer.
- DirectorFriz FrelengDan GordonStarsBilly BletcherMartha WentworthThe boys buy mama a new hat for Mother's Day, but on the way home, fall in the mud and ruin it. They swap the bad hat with one that a nearby horse is wearing and head home, with the horse in pursuit. Mama loves her new hat, and sets out to show her friends, but encounters the horse, who goes after the hat. The horse chases her home, where the kids divert it into a room and try on several different hats. The horse tires of this, and ends up in the basement, where a gluepot spills, attaching a fan to its rump, which gets switched on and, combined with a drop-leaf table, turns the horse into an airplane. It collects the entire family, flies outside, and eventually crashes into a circular clothes rack, which turns into a merry-go-round with everyone grabbing for the hat like a brass ring.
- DirectorMilt GrossStarsMel BlancHarry LangPat McGeehanCount Screwloose and J.R. the Wonder Dog are promoting a $10,000 swing contest. They plan to skip town with the entry fees, but a menacing thug from the "Citizens for Fair Play" convinces them otherwise. The contestants: A singing hippo, "Mother Goose" who starts out as an old woman, then sheds her disguise to reveal a pretty girl, and a fan-dancing ostrich. Throughout, a couple of penguins are heckling. The ostrich proves wildly popular, and Screwloose fears he'll have to give the prize to her, when he gets an idea. He dresses J.R. up as the ostrich and sends him out, but the penguins use a box of sausages to expose the dog. The crowd runs Screwloose and J.R. out, and they grab a ride on a train where the penguins are waiting for them.
- DirectorMilt GrossStarsMel BlancPinto ColvigKent RogersCount Screwloose and J.R. the Wonder Dog share a house. Screwloose hogs all the pancakes at breakfast, so to get even, the dog pastes a picture of a pretty woman over the hag advertising for a husband. Screwloose answers the ad, and soon finds himself chased by the spinster, who keeps telling the minister to wait. They finally get married, and the dog thinks he's going to get a meal to himself when the Screwloose family, including all the kids, moves in.

The statue of Nero comes to life and tries to burn the nearby painting of Rome but his matches go out. He tries to get a set of "hear no evil" monkeys to take the matches from a still life, but they refuse and he teases them. The other artworks come to their defense. Nero plays hurt, and gets the monkeys to help; after they stumble around in the still life for a while, they get drunk on lighter fluid and start breathing flames, which they combine with the fluid to act as a flamethrower. Soon, the museum is ablaze and all the paintings are either sounding the alarm or coming to fight the fire.

- DirectorHugh HarmanStarsMarion DarlingtonJeanne DunneA conductor, in silhouette against sheet music, leads the title tune, which dissolves into a series of placid landscapes. As the music picks up, there is a water wheel, then a dancing fairy emerges from a whirlpool and begins singing, to the delight of small woodland creatures. The calf is frightened by a shadow, until it's revealed to be a jackrabbit. He follows the rabbit deep into the woods, but neither of them notices the wolf following until it's too late for the calf. The calf is trapped in a niche under some rocks, which the wolf quickly digs out. The wolf is closing in on the calf when the rabbit tries to distract him, to no avail. The rabbit bounds off in search of the calf's mother, while the other animals use a porcupine like a battering ram. This buys enough time for the calf to run for home, just as the rabbit and cow are closing in. One look and the wolf runs off, and everyone heads home, with the calf looking back to thank the rabbit, whose ears clasp together above his head in victory.

The plane and Barney plummet to the ground, where they land in the seats of a much larger plane. Barney is clearly unfamiliar with the controls, and takes them on a harrowing trip high into the atmosphere, where they freeze solid until they crash into "Ceiling Zero"; once again, they are demolished and plummet to Earth. In the hospital, Barney and his plane have adjoining beds.

Dejected, he wanders off on a mountain trail to cry. A wolf spots him and begins stalking, but the braying, even more hideous when mixed with sobs, chases him off. The wolf spots easier prey: the same cute critters that rejected the burro earlier. He corners a baby gopher and is closing in, when the burro arrives and brays him right into a rock and off a cliff. The creatures decide to embrace the burro and to tie his ears around his mouth to silence him.

Tom is smitten at first sight, and primps a bit. He offers a fish and a canary, but she's not interested. He then retrieves Jerry (filed under "M" in a filing cabinet), again proving unusually competent. He does several magic tricks with Jerry, producing him in a box of chocolates and Toots' bow, and finally tucking Jerry behind him. While trapped there, Jerry grabs a hat and uses the hat pin to even the score a bit. He runs away to a record changer, and gets Tom caught up in the machinery. With Tom thoroughly defeated (and the machine thoroughly broken), Jerry primps a bit himself, kisses Toots, and sashays into his hole.
