Nicholas Colasanto, the actor and television director who achieved his greatest success as "Coach" on the TV series Cheers (1982) at the end of his career, was born January 19, 1924 in Providence, Rhode Island, one of seven children. He attended Providence's Central High School but did not graduate due to World War II, as he joined the Navy. After being discharged at the end of the war, Colasanto returned to Little Rhody and finished his high school education, then went on to Bryant College, earning money for tuition and board by working construction jobs. He worked as an accountant for an oil company after graduating from Bryant in 1949.
At the age of 28, he saw Henry Fonda perform on Broadway and was infected by the acting bug. He joined a theater company in Phoenix, Arizona before moving back to New York, where he performed in off-Broadway productions and appeared in TV commercials. He relocated to Hollywood in 1965 and began to appear on TV, were he also made his mark as a TV director. Eventually, he directed over 100 episodes of series TV in the 1960s and 70s, including episodes of Bonanza (1959), Columbo (1971), S.W.A.T. (1975) and Starsky and Hutch (1975). His two most memorable film roles were the the boxing manager in John Huston's Fat City (1972) and the mob boss in Martin Scorsese's Raging Bull (1980).
Colasanto was primarily a dramatic actor but the producers of the TV comedy Cheers (1982) cast him as Ernie "Coach" Pantusso, the absent-minded and dumb but lovable bartender. The role made him famous and he earned an Emmy nomination as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series each of the three years that he appeared on the show.
Sadly, at the height of his fame, he died from a heart ailment at his home on February 12th, 1985. Much beloved by the cast, the picture of the Apache warrior Geronimo that Colasanto had kept in his dressing room as a good luck charm was hung on the wall of the primary set of Cheers (1982). The picture of was not only a tribute to "Nicky", as he was known to his friends and co-workers, but was a reminder that "Coach" was still around. Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning actor Woodrow Tracy Harrelson was born on July 23, 1961 in Midland, Texas, to Diane Lou (Oswald) and Charles Harrelson. He grew up in Lebanon, Ohio, where his mother was from. After receiving degrees in theater arts and English from Hanover College, he had a brief stint in New York theater. He was soon cast as Woody on TV series Cheers (1982), which wound up being one of the most-popular TV shows ever and also earned Harrelson an Emmy for his performance in 1989.
While he dabbled in film during his time on Cheers (1982), that area of his career didn't fully take off until towards the end of the show's run. In 1991, Doc Hollywood (1991) gave him his first widely-seen movie role, and he followed that up with White Men Can't Jump (1992), Indecent Proposal (1993) and Natural Born Killers (1994). More recently, Harrelson was seen in No Country for Old Men (2007), Zombieland (2009), 2012 (2009), and Friends with Benefits (2011), along with the acclaimed HBO movie Game Change (2012).
In 2011, Harrelson snagged the coveted role of fan-favorite drunk Haymitch Abernathy in the big-screen adaptation of The Hunger Games (2012), which ended up being one of the highest-grossing movies ever at the domestic box office. Harrelson is set to reprise that role for the sequels, which are scheduled for release in November 2013, 2014 and 2015. Harrelson has received two Academy Award nominations, first for his role as controversial Hustler founder Larry Flynt in The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996) and then for a role in The Messenger (2009). He also received Golden Globe nominations for both of these parts. In 2016, he had a stand-out role as a wise teacher in the teen drama The Edge of Seventeen (2016).

1) When Coach Ernie Pantuso left and Woody Harrelson started acting as Woody in Cheers from Season 4 Episode 1 onwards Woody just ruined the sitcom, I didn't like him, he didn't make me laugh at all and he wasn't as funny as Coach Ernie Pantusso.
2) Woody was friendly and sociable but not as friendly or sociable as Coach Ernie Panutusso.
3) When around others I didn't crack up laughing at what Woody said, but at what the others such as Sam, Norm, Cliff, Frasier etc said because when Coach Ernie Pantusso was around I used to crack up laughing at what he and the others I mentioned above said. Woody, No because he wasn't hilarious like Coach Ernie Pantusso.
4) Woody didn't stand out at all in Cheers, according to lot of Cheers fans he was just plain stupid. He also didn't stand out like the way Coach Ernie Pantusso stood out or the way others such as Sam, Norm, Cliff or Frasier stood out. He just wasn't enjoyable to watch and unfortunately he was quite a boring character to see.
5) Woody was a likeable character but there were so many things that couldn't have been different about him and he needed to make improvements in lots of ways.
6) Woody didn't have problems in interacting with the others but Coach Ernie Pantussos interaction with the others was much more better.
7) Woody had his own problems to deal with such as his lover Kelly etc, but Coach Ernie Pantusso didn't have any problems.
8) Woody is a bit stupid at times and some times gets too excited and is a bit hyperactive.
9) Woody didn't appeal to me and I didn't like him that much.
10) Woody is useless compared to the brilliant Coach Ernie Pantusso.
