- DirectorZak HilditchStarsJessica De GouwNathan PhillipsDavid FieldA self-obsessed young man makes his way to the party-to-end-all-parties on the last day on Earth, but ends up saving the life of a little girl searching for her father. Their relationship ultimately leads him on the path to redemption."These Final Hours" kicks the viewer out of autopilot mode when they are watching the last 20 minutes of the movie with tears in their eyes.
A story about "the ending of the world is going to happen soon" is the most fascinating plot for any movie in my opinion. For several reasons. Besides it is an opportunity for a director to make something great out of it. Such a movie should send out a message, like a wake-up call. Think about it. As soon as we realize in real life, that it will be over soon, due to a disease or an unstoppable lethal event, we suddenly ask ourselves what life is all about - what matters in life, what is the purpose of life, who am I. One of the most soul-touching movies that I have ever seen. - DirectorAlan ParkerStarsBrad DavisIrene MiracleBo HopkinsBilly Hayes, an American college student, is caught smuggling drugs out of Turkey and thrown into prison.Yes, it's one of the older films, but that doesn't mean at all that this film is old-fashioned or boring. I swear - it's not. This film makes you want to jump on the screen and help the protagonist. One of the most underrated and overlooked films based on a true story, even though it won an Oscar. I've never heard anyone talk about this film, not once in my life. Writer and screenplay: Oliver Stone. shocking, heartbreaking. a must-watch. 9/10
- DirectorDavid BrucknerDan BushJacob GentryStarsAnessa RamseyJustin WelbornScott PoythressA horror film told in three parts, from three perspectives, in which a mysterious transmission that turns people into killers invades every cell phone, radio, and television.A hidden gem. After about 18 minutes, your jaw will hit the ground for the 1st time. And it tends to stay there for the rest of the movie. Jesus Christ, that jealous dude whose girlfriend is cheating on him is hilarious. He overreacts to everything. But, believe it or not, it is unintentionally funny (for adults) because of these hilarious situations. All of the actors do a great job. But that one dude is priceless, and taking it way too seriously. He turns into the most brutal dude....No kidding. he struggles not to lose his mind. Example: After his blood bath, a few seconds later, someone tells him: wait, what have you done??? That was the wrong person man... she is (was) a friend of mine... omg you are a murderer!!! Scenes like that happen all the time. I laughed so much until my belly hurt. The thing is, many gore scenes, including the one that I described, are playing inside the imagination of the viewer's mind only. Which is a good thing. 9/10
- DirectorDavid MichôdStarsGuy PearceRobert PattinsonScoot McNairy10 years after a global economic collapse, a hardened loner pursues the men who stole his only possession, his car. Along the way, he captures one of the thieves' brother, and the duo form an uneasy bond during the dangerous journey.First of all: The plot description of IMDB is wrong. The movie is NOT about "his only possession, his car". The one who is responsible for that misleading description should get fired.
This is a hidden gem and highly underrated.
A slow and silent thriller with a ton of atmosphere thanks to Guy Pearce. It is not as freaky as the Mad Max movies - no, it's better. although there are freaks, it's realistic. It is serious, almost depressive. great script and screenplay. every detail counts. This movie is all about empathy for the protagonist. I love his role in this movie, it's one of his best. 'Fear the man who has nothing left to lose' is the perfect description. Guy Pierce is playing a broken man. A sad man who has lost everything. He only speaks if necessary. But then things change because, the last thing that meant something to him had been stolen coincidentally, and he would do anything to get it back. He turns into a very, very angry man inside, - and no, it is not his car that the story is all about. As I said, the description of IMDB is wrong. It will be resolved in the final scene of the movie. Robert Pattinson is also doing great. This is a post-apocalyptic movie, about a world in which friendship, love, and loyalty are the only reasons left to live. Don't miss that movie.edit: Guy Pearce shows a textbook version of Method acting. 9/10 - DirectorYann GozlanStarsPierre NineyLou de LaâgeAndré DussollierA young and talented black box analyst is on a mission to solve the reason behind the deadly crash of a brand new aircraft.Wow. What a fantastic thriller without any violence. Serious and eye-opening. With great screenplay. It will take you to the edge of your seat.
Also with great actors, and an even better story which is about a black-box analysis after a plane crash. But I don't want to spoil anything about it.
The lead actor is the same type of guy as Edward Snowden. I don't think this is a coincidence.
Absolute recommendation to watch that movie, you won't be disappointed. 8.5 Stars. - DirectorChristopher SmithStarsFranka PotenteSean HarrisVas BlackwoodTrapped in a London subway station, a woman who's being pursued by a potential attacker heads into the unknown labyrinth of tunnels beneath the city's streets.Wait before you move on. This movie is SEAN HARRIS' first lead role as a villain! This movie went under the radar because it was almost simultaneously released with the original SAW movie (which is not on that list because Saw is not scary enough). This movie is often confused with another movie with the same name which came after in 2015. This movie, CREEP 2004 with Franka Potente is overlooked and underrated. It is a scary, disturbing, depressive, claustrophobic, panic-inducing atmosphere. Also because of the ingenious sound design created by "The Insects". Sound creates most of a movie's atmosphere and "The Insects" did an amazing job in Creep. Right on from the opening credit sequence. 8/10
- DirectorJames FoleyStarsSean PennChristopher WalkenMary Stuart MastersonReunited with his career criminal father, tough teen Brad thinks he's found his ticket to an exciting life of crime, only to find out he's wrong.Christopher Walken is the perfect actor for that role. Based on real events. haunting story. 8/10
- DirectorAnthony Scott BurnsStarsJulia Sarah StoneLandon LiboironCarlee RyskiA teenage runaway takes part in a sleep study that becomes a nightmarish descent into the depths of her mind and a frightening examination of the power of dreams. To understand the plot, it is important to watch the film until the very last scene until the end credits begin. there is a twist in the last scene of the movie that explains the entire movie. 8/10
- DirectorPatrick VollrathStarsJoseph Gordon-LevittOmid MemarAylin TezelWhen terrorists try to seize control of a Berlin-Paris flight, a soft-spoken American co-pilot struggles to save the lives of the passengers and crew while forging a surprising connection with one of the hijackers.Feels very realistic. It feels like sitting right inside a cockpit from the moment the passengers enter the plane in real-time. after the takeoff, things get ugly. worth a watch. 8/10
- DirectorFranklin RitchStarsTatum MatthewsLance HenriksenSinda NicholsA team of special agents discovers a revolutionary new computer program to bait and trap online predators. After teaming up with the program's troubled developer, they soon find that the AI is rapidly advancing beyond its original purpose.I don't know a movie that reflects self-learning AI better than this one. The viewer gets a feeling of what it means if such an AI is without a primary objective. fascinating. a must-watch. 08/10
- DirectorS.K. DaleStarsMegan FoxEoin MackenCallan MulveyA woman is left handcuffed to her dead husband as part of a sick revenge plot. Unable to unshackle, she has to survive as two killers arrive to finish her off. This one is unpredictable and entertaining. A high-tension thriller with horror elements. And it is unique. I don't know a similar movie. Megan Fox is stunningly beautiful, by the way. She plays the main character whose husband is a mighty businessman. That kind of guy who owns everything, and who has a solution for everything that stands in his way. But there is one thing that he can't control..... And the worst thing that could happen in his life is happening: But I won't spoil it. After about 20 minutes you will be in a constant state of shock when watching this fantastic terror thriller. I don't get the low rating at all. 8/10
- DirectorAntoine FuquaStarsJamie FoxxDavid MorseRobert PastorelliAn ex-con is used by police to lure a criminal out of hiding. This is one of the funniest thrillers that I know. This is mainly down to Jamie Foxx. He delivers an incredible performance. He plays a guy who talks without a pause while his brain is switched off. Vastly underrated.
