March Picks: The Movies and TV You Can't Miss10 of 18
Umma | In Theaters on Friday, March 18
Plot: Amanda and her daughter live a quiet life on an American farm, but Amanda becomes haunted by the fear of turning into her own mother.
Our Take: We all fear turning into our parents, but writer/director Iris K. Shim is taking that fear to the next level with her upcoming supernatural horror film Umma. The film follows Amanda (Sandra Oh) and her daughter (Fivel Stewart) living a quiet life as beekeepers on an American farm, until the remains of her estranged mother arrive from Korea, and Amanda becomes haunted by the fear of becoming (by the looks of things, we are thinking literally) her own mother. We are so excited for this one. — Vanessa
