Best Cartoon Shorts of the 1960's
The 1960's was the last gasp of high-quality, made for the big screen, cartoon shorts; From the 1920's to 1950's, cartoons were a medium for an audience of adults AND children, to watch in a cinema, where EVERYONE went to see Westerns, musicals, horror movies, kids movies, whatever... But by the late 60's, cartoons were made for TV, for an audience of kids on a saturday morning, when no adults were watching- So quality dropped, and content got more childish. But that change didn't happen all at once; The quality of cartoon shorts gradually disintergrated thru the 60's, as TV ownership gradually became the norm.
There were still SOME classic shorts, in the early 60s, but overall cartoons in the 60's were pretty unimpressive, compared to previous decades.
