- DirectorMax OphülsStarsJames MasonJoan BennettGeraldine BrooksAfter discovering the dead body of her teenage daughter's lover, a housewife takes desperate measures to protect her family from scandal. The Reckless Moment is an under-rated film that I would recommend for Mother's Day. Joan Bennet plays a stressed out mother who would do anything for her kids, even if it may be covering a murder. Totally recommend!! 7.5/10
- DirectorWilliam WylerStarsGregory PeckJean SimmonsCarroll BakerA New England sea captain in the 1880s arrives at his fiancée's sprawling Texas ranch, where he becomes embroiled in a feud between two families over a valuable patch of land. The family feud made the movie for me, definitely the performance of Burl Ives. Whenever Ives is on screen, he steals the show! 8.5/10
- DirectorRonald NeameStarsDeborah KerrHayley MillsJohn MillsAn elderly woman hires a governess with a mysterious past to look after her disturbed, spoiled teenage granddaughter, who eventually understands the meaning of self-sacrifice as an example of love and grows into a better person. This has two great and under-rated performances played by Deborah Kerr, and Hailey Mills. Their scenes, and dialogue made a thrilling movie. 8.5/10
- DirectorNancy MeyersStarsLindsay LohanDennis QuaidNatasha RichardsonIdentical twins Annie and Hallie, separated at birth and each raised by one of their biological parents, discover each other for the first time at summer camp and make a plan to bring their wayward parents back together. Both Parent Traps definitely has it's pros and cons but the twin's relationships between their parents are way better in this adaptation!! 7/10
- DirectorDavid SwiftStarsHayley MillsMaureen O'HaraBrian KeithTeenage twin sisters swap places and scheme to reunite their divorced parents.Hailey Mills is extremely charming and cute throughout this film. It's hard not to like her performance. 6.5/10
- DirectorJohn SturgesStarsSusan PetersAlexander KnoxPhyllis ThaxterA jealous, manipulative stepmother confined to a wheelchair interferes with her stepchildren's romances so that they will not get married and leave home. One manipulative person can absolutely destroy an entire family. Susan Peter steals the show in this film. It is amazing just how one crippled woman is capable of knowing everything that goes on behind closed doors in her family's home, and still strike fear into everyone she meets. Truly one of the best villains ever put to screen.. 9/10
- DirectorRobert SiodmakStarsGeorge SandersElla RainesGeraldine FitzgeraldBachelor Harry Quincey, head designer in a small-town cloth factory, lives with his selfish sisters, glamorous hypochondriac Lettie and querulous widow Hester. His developing relationship with new colleague Deborah Brown promises happiness at last...thwarted by passive, then increasingly active opposition from one sister. Will Harry resort to desperate measures?Similar to 'The Sign of the Ram,' George Sanders deals with an extremely toxic family in this film. Whether it be the manipulative/incestuous sister played by Geraldine Fitzgerald or the emotionally bullied sister played by Sara Allgood. Every performance makes you want to scream at George Sanders to marry Ella Rains and get out of there!! However, that makes a boring movie. This film has a terrible 'twist' ending, but I still rank it a 7/10.
- DirectorRichard WallaceStarsShirley TempleJerome CourtlandWalter Abel15-year-old Corliss Archer and 17-year-old Mildred Pringle are best friends and get into some mischief together which causes their parents to fight over who is a bad influence on whom. Their fight also affects on Mildred and Lenny Archer, Corliss' brother, who elope one weekend when Lenny's home on leave from the Army. Fearing that the Pringles would want the marriage annulled, the couple decides not to tell anyone except Corliss. Then Mildred gets pregnant and Corliss is seen leading the doctor's office when she accompanies Mildred there. Mrs. Pringle heads to the Archers' with the wrong idea and tells them that Corliss is pregnant, and they assume that Corliss' boyfriend is the father. To buy them some time, Corliss tells her parents that she and Dexter are married, all the while trying to contact Mildred at every opportunity. Suddenly, Corliss' uncle, a navy chaplain, shows up and offers to give them a real home wedding right there.Shirley Temple and Walter Abel make this film for me. Their father/daughter chemistry is like watching a train-wreck. It is hilarious, and worth a watch. I love it!! 7.5/10
- DirectorPeter JensenStarsMelinda MarxDiane BerghoffSahn Berti'Kidnapping' has never been so much fun to watch!! This film has some of the best child acting, and that alone says something!! There are some action scenes that carry out for way to long, but the family still makes a great watch!! 6.5/10
- DirectorFrank CapraStarsJean ArthurJames StewartLionel BarrymoreThe son of a snobbish Wall Street banker becomes engaged to a woman from a good-natured but decidedly eccentric family not realizing that his father is trying to force her family from their home for a real estate development. This is another weird family, but Jimmy Stewart and Jean Arthur have the sweetest chemistry in this film!! 6/10

- DirectorTay GarnettStarsGreer GarsonGregory PeckDonald CrispAn Irish maid falls for the son of her wealthy boss, though their disapproving fathers and a bitter strike at the steel mill complicate matters.Another family-feud film starring Gregory Peck only dealing with social class. - DirectorGeorge CukorStarsKatharine HepburnCary GrantDoris NolanA young man in love with a girl from a rich family finds his unorthodox plan to go on holiday for the early years of his life met with skepticism by everyone except for his fiancée's eccentric sister and long-suffering brother.Another terrible family, but a captivating story. This deals with the problem with greed and materialism in the best way. Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant, and Lew Ayres really makes the movie for me. 8/10
- DirectorFrank CapraStarsCary GrantPriscilla LaneRaymond MasseyA Brooklyn writer of books on the futility of marriage risks his reputation after he decides to tie the knot. Things get even more complicated when he learns on his wedding day that his beloved maiden aunts are habitual murderers. The best 'I am adopted' scene that ever graced cinema. 8/10
- DirectorStanley KramerStarsSpencer TracySidney PoitierKatharine HepburnA couple's attitudes are challenged when their daughter introduces them to her African-American fiancé.The most powerful family get-together movie I have ever seen!! 8.5/10
- DirectorJoe MayStarsGeorge SandersMargaret LindsayVincent PriceBased on the novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne, this classic film follows a family feud between two brothers and an ancient curse that haunts them.I am not sure if the family is haunted or the house? 5.5/10
- DirectorRaoul WalshStarsTeresa WrightRobert MitchumJudith AndersonA boy haunted by nightmares about the night his entire family was murdered is brought up by a neighboring family in the 1880s. - DirectorAlfred HitchcockStarsTeresa WrightJoseph CottenMacdonald CareyA teenage girl, overjoyed when her favorite uncle comes to visit the family in their quiet California town, slowly begins to suspect that he is in fact the "Merry Widow" killer sought by the authorities.I don't like how oblivious this family is to both Charlies but a great Alfred Hitchcock thriller!! 8/10
