- StarsHan Hyo-jooLee Jong-sukLee Tae-HwanAfter being pulled into the webtoon world created by her father, a surgical resident gets entangled in a murder mystery involving the story's hero. The first half is excellent, but the second part gets a bit repetitive. The side characters are great, the main couple is wholesome. The whole plot and concept seem so unique - absolutely love it.
- DirectorBang Woo-riStarsKim Yoo-jungByeon Woo-seokHan Hyo-jooIn 1999, a teen with a heart of gold begins keeping close tabs on a popular classmate as a favor to her smitten best friend.Visually stunning. Heartbreaking and very cute movie
- StarsLee Bo-youngLee Jong-sukYoon Sang-HyunA sharp female lawyer with no filter teams up with a public defender and a high-school student with special gifts to bring down a killer with a personal vendetta. The amnesia plot "-". Side characters are awesome. The story overall is very interesting. After watching W, some parts seems like a repeat. Mr Cha is great.
- StarsHyun BinSon Ye-jinSeo Ji-hyeThe absolute top secret love story of a chaebol heiress who made an emergency landing in North Korea because of a paragliding accident and a North Korean special officer who falls in love with her and who is hiding and protecting her.The second episode made me fall for these characters. The military storyline seems very interesting. The best series so far. The main couple is just amazing. All the side characters are distinct and fun to watch. An emotional rollercoaster.
- StarsGong YooKim Go-eunLee Dong-wookIn his quest for a bride to break his immortal curse, Dokkaebi, a 939-year-old guardian of souls, meets a grim reaper and a sprightly student with a tragic past.I love the Grim Reaper. The friendships are excellent, and the main couple is a little controversial, but the characters are great to watch. Bromances > romances in this one, although the second couple's storyline is heartbreaking. Very well-acted and beautifully shot.
- StarsLee Dong-wookCho Seung-wooWon Jin-ahA medical drama that depicts the power struggles and human stories that take place within a university hospital.I started watching because of Lee Dong Wook, but the series brought me in. A very interesting look at the work dynamics, relationships, and the price of human errors in the hospital field. The ending was satisfying relationship-wise, but unresolved from the hospital vs corporation perspective. Overall, I really enjoyed it. There are a lot of similarities between other institutions becoming business-oriented and workers resisting that.
- StarsHan Hyo-jooPark Hyung-sikJo Woo-jinAn apocalyptic thriller that takes place in a time in which infectious diseases have become the new normal. It seems appropriate to the times right now, everyone showing their authentic selves in times of crisis. The opening titles remind me of a dark version of Only Murders. Han Hyo-joo is badass, Park Hyung-sik is great. It is cool to watch them slowly go to lovers. Also, the head of HDC is not as heartless as it initially seems. I enjoy that every next episode adds more background stories to the characters. It keeps getting better with every next episode. The soundtrack is great and addictive. The 11th episode seemed a bit off with the Andrew angle, but it returned to greatness in the last one. Definitely a favourite of mine.
- StarsLee Da-haeLee Dong-wookLee Joon-giWith a perpetually indebted father, Joo Yoo Rin learned to lie on the spot and get herself out of tricky situations, which gets Seol Gong Chan, a rich heir to a company, to hire her to impersonate his long lost cousin. The main girl is something - pretty unbearable at first, but showing a more authentic side of herself later. It is evident that the show is from 2005. A bit slow at times. Gets better after 3rd episode. The story seems a bit soap opera-like at times, but a fun watch overall. The finale could have skipped one of the "drama" story additions, it just seemed repetitive and did not really change anything at all, just confused Yoo Rin's dad.
- StarsLee Joon-giKim Sung-ryungAhn Kil-kangDuring the Joseon Dynasty, Ryung acted as a hooligan in the marketplace by day but at night he was a thief who robbed corrupted government officials to give to the poor.As it is a period drama, there seem to be some discrepancies. Also, the CGI is bad at times, like the main character looking like he's wearing an invisibility cloak on a roof. But the setup is promising from the very start. Yong/Geom can be irritating at times, but the acting is great - the switch between the public and the actual persona. The first episodes leads to the question - how is he still alive? Ja Dol/Shi Hoo is so devastatingly sad, it's so hard to watch sometimes, although the character switch near the end is surprising. The adults are overplayed for fun, but it does take away from the serious parts for them as they all harbour secrets that affect the main characters. The ladies could have had a better storyline. The show is a bit slow at the beginning but the second part flies by and makes You want to watch the next episode immediately. I love how Si Wan goes from a character You hate to one who's just silly and fun to watch. Definitely became a favourite character. Really enjoyed the last couple of episodes.
- StarsKim Soo-hyunSeo Ye-jiOh Jung-seAn extraordinary road to emotional healing opens up for an selfish antisocial children's-book writer and a selfless psych-ward caretaker when they cross paths.Great series. Heartwarming, emotional and beautiful. Well acted throughout with lots of life lessons and funny moments. All the characters are interesting to watch. The psychological angle of it all makes you think. Amazing soundtrack. The analogies with fairytales is so cool and spot on.
- StarsSong Ji-hyoPark Shi-hooJung Soon-wonPhilip and Eul-Soon seem to share fate. If one person is happy, the other person is unhappy. Philip is a top star. Eul-Soon is drama series screenwriter. They begin to work together for a drama series and mysterious things take place around them. she writes it's become reality for him.A good murder mystery series. The romance part was not that good, especially the love triangle part, but there were some cute moments here and there. The leads were annoying at times. Producer Lee, the MVP in this series for me, I would love to see more of him. The side characters were interesting and the villain/villains were very believable. The timeline itself seems a bit unrealistic, but then again I do not know how fast is the production process of the series. It was a solid 7 for me for the most part, but the last few episodes bumped it up to an 8. Good soundtrack as well.
- StarsSon Ye-jinJung Hae-inJoo Min-KyungWhen a single career woman reunites with her best friend's younger brother after he returns from three years of working abroad, their efforts to reconnect grow into romance. So emotional. The first few episodes made me smile at my screen whenever there were cute moments and yell at it in frustration. The chemistry between the leads is so good. However, Yoon Jin-Ah's mother is unbearable most of the time. She does get better by the end though. The workplace environment for her with male co-workers is toxic. I wish there would have been more detail about the trial and its result, although it was satisfying anyway. I don't know whether it was the subtitles, but the time jump had to be longer than a few months, considering what had happened in between. The 15th episode had such hopelessness at times but I really did enjoy how things got wrapped up in the end. Love the soundtrack, the instrumentals are great too.
- StarsKim Seon-aLee Dong-wookUhm Ki-joonTimid and considerate Yeon Jae finds out that she has only six months to live. She decides to quit her job and works hard to complete each dream in her bucket list.I don't know whether the show's makers are making other characters so despicable and annoying throughout the whole show or whether it is the initial setup to make the main character feel even more miserable. How much can one person take especially in her position, it gets painful to watch. Only the main lead seems to care about her. The second female lead is the most awful person at the moment. I really hope that she will get whatever is coming to her.
Overall it is interesting, but frustrating after 3/4 episodes. Then it becomes super romantic with a bit of over-the-top melodrama (at least for my taste) for a few episodes, but the last few episodes have a nice wrap-up. I did expect a different ending but overall it was a lovely romantic drama. The unlikable characters had at least a bit of redemption by the end. Absolutely loved the mother-daughter relationship. A well-acted drama as well. Really enjoyed the tango parts. - StarsHan Hyo-jooLee Seung-giMoon Chae-wonAfter losing her father Go Eun-sung's stepmother kicks her and her autistic brother out of the house. Shortly after her brother is kidnapped. Eun-sung now has to look for her brother while also trying to find a job in order to survive.Grandma is the MVP of the series. Hwan started out as an entitled and annoying guy but changed well throughout the series. Seung Mi's character went downhill fast and strong - it is hard to believe that one person can be so dependent on the existence of another. The step-mother is the worst in the series, how can a person do things like that and get away with it ?!? The family relationships for all three families involved are very interesting and complicated. Hwan's mom and sister were the silly characters that are always fun to watch, Butler Pyo is awesome. The leads are really strong in this one. And the side characters as well. Overall, at points, extremely melodramatic but a very interesting series - did not expect to fly through the whole 28 episodes in less than two weeks. Han-Hyo-joo is a favourite of mine but this series makes me want to watch more from Lee Seung-gi as well. The chemistry between Eun Sung and Hwan is great to watch.
- StarsIm Si-wanLee Dong-wookAhn Eun-jinUnpleasant events disturb the life of an aspiring crime fiction writer when he becomes a resident of an apartment building teeming with shady neighbors. This is a very unsettling and creepy show—gloomy atmosphere. Extremely compelling, but at the same time keeps anxiety levels high throughout. It is hard to understand what exactly is the truth in the story as the lead is not the most reliable narrator. It is fascinating to see LDW as an antagonist; he is so good in that role. Very good cast. The last episode was surprising and unsettling as the truth and the conclusion remains unclear to the viewer. This show makes You think about a lot of things regarding human nature and society itself.
- StarsHa Ji-WonHyun BinYoon Sang-HyunA rich young CEO falls for a poor stuntwoman despite class differences, cultural traditions and the man's firmly objecting mother. The 1st episode gives a promising story. It is fun to see some actors from previously seen dramas in entirely different roles. At first, Joo-won seems too entitled, annoying and a douche, but that attitude changes over time and he becomes a more likeable character. The dynamics between the characters are fun to watch. Mr Kim is just a joy and a bit of comic relief. The whole switching bodies thing is fascinating and presented in a good way, like a chance to work things out in general.
- StarsRyu Seung-ryongHan Hyo-jooZo In-sungThe quiet lives of three high school students with genetic superhuman abilities turn upside down when a mysterious organization starts to hunt them down one by one. It's a great blend of sci-fi and romance. The cast is so good and the romances are so natural and cute. Love it. It is pretty cool to see more English spoken in Korean series too. The parent couples and their stories are so great, especially Mihyun and Doosik. I really enjoyed the fact that in the end family is the core of the series. Beautiful to see. Seems like there might be a continuation as the ending is quite open-ended. I would love to see more of this world.
- StarsKim Young-kwangSin Jae-haLee Ji-hoonThe Starry Night is a Chinese-South Korean collaboration web drama. At twenty-nine-years-old, Go Ho faces the struggles of the modern day woman, namely the struggles to succeed in work and romance in the 21st Century. An advertisement contractor who is unlucky in love, Go Ho works hard to be successful with her career, and only thinks of romance as an afterthought. But one day, an old flame turns up, taking on the role of her new boss, and suddenly it seems like every man is looking her way. Will the dust settle long enough for her to make the right romantic choices? This series surprised me in a good way. It was funny and enjoyable throughout. Did not expect it to be so bingeable. Loved the cast and their chemistry. The story was a bit off-putting at times, but overall great series. Definitely a rewatch-worthy series.
- StarsBae SuzyLee Jong-sukJung Hae-inThe drama is about a woman, Nam Hong Joo, who can see accidents that take place in the future through her dreams. And a prosecutor, Jung Jae Chan, who struggles to stop the woman's dreams from coming true.A very good series. The cast is amazing and the soundtrack too. The story was good and I really enjoyed the role of dreams and why certain people had them, however, I hoped there would be some kind of resolve or solution to them - that they would end at some point, but that is unclear in the end. Every character was interesting to watch, and the serial killer served its purpose, but it could have worked without her as well, in my opinion, because it was very clear who the real villain is from pretty much the very beginning. A good blend of mystery and romance.
- StarsPark Hyung-sikHan So-heeVictoria GraceBest friends for almost twenty years, our two main characters can no longer ignore the feelings blooming between them as they start living together.Visually beautiful. Great chemistry between the leads and a nice story overall. It really is a mini-series so there is lack of depth in some parts of the story which is a shame. But it is a great concept and makes You think about what love is to You.
- StarsSon Ye-jinLee Min-hoKim Nam-gilA straight-laced architect falls in love with a furniture designer while pretending to be gay.Son Ye-Jin is the main reason for me to finish this series. Her portrayal of the character is amazing, even the little details in movement and expressions are believable. It is surprising to see her playing such a different character from what I've seen from her until now. The series itself is not the best. Everything could be resolved much faster and easier if the leads would not be petty and In Hee would know when to stop. The chemistry between the main leads is great and it is fun to watch them when they are not going in the loop of "I like you - I cannot admit that I like you now". The most annoying thing is definitely In Hee and her actions, it is just awful. The main character is too miserable at points as well. The side characters like the director, architects and best friend are interesting to watch. There are some funny moments, but the story feels too repetitive in the second half of the series. I will add Lee Min-Ho and Seung-ryong Ryu to my liked actors list though.
- StarsLee Seung-giLee Hee-joonPark Ju-hyunJung Ba-Reum is a rookie police officer. He is an honest person and tries to attain justice. After Ba-Reum faces a psychopath murderer, who places the entire nation in fear, his life is totally changed. One of the best series regarding acting and plot. All the main cast is great in their roles. My MVP was Lee Hee-joon as Go Moo Chi, but Lee Seung-gi as Jung Ba Reum was amazing. It honestly felt like I was watching a masterclass in acting, that is how good it was.
The story itself had so many twists and turns that make You scream and curse at times, but everything comes together well and is explained in pretty good detail.
There were three things that I did not like, though:
1. Detective Shin Sang and Sung Yo Han deserved so much better. It was heartbreaking.
2. Bong Yi was irritating often, but taking into account her age and story, it was justifiable. The romantic plot between Bong Yi and Ba Reum seemed unnecessary and a bit uncomfortable when Bong Yi was so obsessed with him at times.
3. The only part of the story that seemed under explained was when they switched babies. It is a minor thing, but I did want to see when exactly that was.
* A minor thing was the music choices in previews that seemed off sometimes. For thriller and suspense series sudden romantic songs in previews took me out of the whole mood of the series. That did not effect much, but just was an interesting choice. - StarsKim Young-kwangJin Ki-jooKoo Ja-sungAfter Do Min Ik, a competent director, loses his ability to recognise faces, he becomes dependent on Jung Gal Hee, his secretary, and eventually develops feelings for her. This series allows You to enjoy the performances without focusing much on what is happening. It is a silly story, quite predictable and over the top at times, but heartwarming and very well acted. Of course, Veronica Park is a stand-out character in the series, but I also enjoyed seeing Kim Young Kwang in a romantic role. A feel-good series.
- StarsKu Hye-SunLee Min-hoKim Hyun-joongPoor girl attends the elite Shin Hwa High and is bullied by the leader of F4 (the four richest boys). He becomes attracted to her; however, she has a crush on his best friend. Whom will she choose? It's an iconic series. But not very good plotwise and acting-wise. There are a lot of things that haven't aged well. The main leads are unbearable most of the time. And Jan Di's family was weird - if her parents were that incapable, how did they live before kids? The ending was predictable, but my interest in finishing the series remained because of the surrounding characters. Ji Hoo was the most interesting character for me, as well as the growing romance between Yi Jung and Ga Eul. The series seemed too long and with too many "twists"/unnecessary additions to the story. It was just too much and too ridiculous at times.
- DirectorJung Ji-wooStarsKim Go-eunJung Hae-inPark Hae-joonIn 1994 during the IMF crisis, two people meet while exchanging stories on a radio program. They fall in love, but can't quite seem to get the timing right. This movie left a satisfying feeling and occurence of the: "If it is meant to be, it will be" saying. Some moments with time changes were a bit hard to understand at first, but the falling in love and relationship between the characters was very clear throughout. The leads were nice and had great chemistry. Feels like a comfort movie.
- DirectorJong-Yeol BaekStarsHan Hyo-jooPark Seo-joonJuri UenoA South Korean has a different person's body, changing every morning to a body "borrowed" for a day - man, woman, old, child and sometimes a foreigner. "He" works as furniture designer. He loves a girl. She loves him for the beauty inside.Heartfelt movie. Interesting concept. Han Hyo Joo does a great job working with so many different partners. Makes You think of the real reason we love one another and how strong the feelings actually are.
- StarsLee Dong-wookKim Hye-junJo Han-sunAn action drama in which a niece who lost her parents and grew up in the hands of an uncle who runs a shopping mall, faces a new truth after her uncle's sudden death. It is a very entertaining and well-acted series. Loved the non-linear storytelling. Action-packed with lots of humanity. I would love to see more of it—visually pleasing, cool aesthetic, great soundtrack. The main characters are interesting with complicated backgrounds, and stories. The dynamics are good too.
- StarsHyun BinHan Ji-minKim Do-yeonKoo Seo-Jin (Hyun-Bin) has two different personalities. One of his personalities is cold like Hyde and the other is sweet like Jekyll. This is an interesting series overall, however it did seem a bit too long. I enjoyed the concept of dissociative identity disorder and how it was displayed here. The antagonist was great, but that storyline wrapped up too quickly for me. After that, it seemed like the story was pretty much done and it was just the indecisiveness of the main leads that kept the series going and it seemed a bit boring at times. I would have loved to see a bit more of their relationship when Robin is gone. The characters were fleshed out enough to make them appealing and the chemistry between the leads and the circus team was great.
- DirectorChung-Hyun LeeStarsPark Shin-hyeJeon Jong-seoKim Sung-ryungTwo people live in different times. Seo-Yeon lives in the present and Young-Sook lives in the past. One phone call connects the two, and their lives are changed irrevocably.A good psychological thriller. Kept me on edge all throughout despite being familiair with the plot.
- StarsYoon Chan-youngPark SieunSeo Jung-yeonThe story follows the pain and growth of 17-year-old Min Jae and Seo Yeon. Min Jae is an ordinary, male high school student. He doesn't talk much and he has a bit of a sensitive personality. Min Jae gets good grades and doesn't cause trouble. Seo Yeon attends the same high school as Min Jae. They also graduated from the same middle school. She is an ordinary, female high school student. Two years ago, her parents divorced. Since then, she has lived with her mother. The best thing about this series is that is so familiar and close to reality. It is simple storytelling with a clear message and just raw emotions. Short but powerful series. I think that everyone has experienced these kinds of feelings at some point in their lives and it is great if there is someone who can relate and help you through it.
- CreatorPark Ji-dokStarsRyu Seung-ryongAhn Jae-hongKim Yoo-jungA woman steps into an odd machine and becomes - a chicken nugget? Now, it's up to her father and admirer to embark on a zany quest to bring her back.Unique series. Honestly, the premise and title seemed silly, that is why I decided to watch these series. And seeing that Ryu Seung-ryong is part of the cast just made me watch it more. The more I watch, the more intriguing it is. The purposeful overacting at times, the colourful style and the satire with the story that just keeps expanding make this show better. The story could go into more detail. Episode 3 is my favourite, laughed so much about the style and the intentional puns. Good comedy.
- DirectorJung Bum-shikStarsOh Ah-yeonWi Ha-joonYoo Je-YoonThe crew of a horror web series travels to an abandoned asylum for a live broadcast. It soon encounters much more than expected as it moves deeper inside the nightmarish old building.A decent horror movie. Found footage style is well excecuted and makes you feel as a character at certain moments. The thing that put me off was the "slurping ghost?" moments, they were just too funny to take it seriously. Other than that, a good thrill.
- StarsSong Chae-YoonHan Su-ahShim So-YoungWhen night falls on the city, shadows and spirits come alive in this horror anthology series centered on urban legends.Simple, short horror stories.
- StarsLee Sung-kyungSung JunEllA woman thinks of revenge after her life halts at crossroads but instead starts empathizing with her mark. It's a melodrama of love, forgiveness, empathy and tragedies.This. Realistic. Wholesome. Full of emotions. One of my favourites.
- StarsHan Hyo-jooJu Ji-hoonLee Hee-joonA former bodyguard is recruited to protect the CEO of a lab-grown meat company who is also a survivor of the attack that changed his life.Science, adventure, politics and coruption. With a hint of romance. Interesting show and future premise.
