The Weeknd (aka Abel Tesfaye) is set to make his TV debut with a series HBO is calling “the sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood.” In “The Idol,” a pop star’s (Lily-Rose Depp) recent nervous breakdown drives her into the arms of a charismatic nightclub owner with dubious intentions. The controversial new show is a collaboration between Tesfaye, his producing partner Reza Fahim, and Sam Levinson, best known for the award-winning “Euphoria,” which might give audiences an indication of the salacious subject matter to expect.
