Others honored in the set were Max Steiner, Dimitri Tiomkin, Bernard Herrmann, Alfred Newman, and Erich Wolfgang Korngold.
- Waxman worked on four films for Billy Wilder and four for Alfred Hitchcock. Wilder claimed that Waxman and Miklos Rozsa were his favorite film composers.
- Beginning with Fritz Lang's "Fury" (1936) MGM pictures opened to the sound of Waxman's fanfare.
