Winona and Jenna, together at last.
On Thursday, Warner Bros. released the full trailer for Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice 2” – officially known as “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” – giving fans their first look at Gen X’s goth teen icon Winona Ryder and Gen Z’s goth teen icon Jenna Ortega on screen together in the sequel to the 1988 horror comedy.
The new trailer brings back the trailercore version of “Day-o (The Banana Boat Song)” from first teaser, plus better looks at Ryder as now-adult goth Lydia Deetz, Ortega as her daughter Astrid, and, of course, Michael Keaton as Tex Avery-esque demon Betelgeuse.
The trailer introduces the plot of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” in which Lydia returns to Connecticut for her father’s funeral. She tells her daughter the story of how she once summoned a demon who wanted to marry her and created chaos in her and her family’s life for a while.

It's showtime!
Warner Bros. has unveiled the first full trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and it gives us a much better idea of what to expect from Tim Burton's long-awaited sequel.
The footage begins with Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder) returning to Winter River with her mother Delia (Catherine O'Hara) and daughter Astrid (Jenna Ortega) for her father's funeral (confirming reports that Jeffrey Jones' Charles Deetz has been killed off), when memories of her encounter with lecherous demon Betelgeuse (Michael Keaton) resurface.
Lydia explains what happened all those years ago to Astrid, who proceeds to say the Ghost with the Most's name three times, summoning the Bio-Exorcist back to the land of the living.
The previous teaser suggested that Betelgeuse might be seeking revenge, but it looks like he'll be putting his differences with Lydia aside in an effort to rescue Astrid.
Who takes Lydia's daughter and why is not clear,...

Hey, did one of you say Beetlejuice three times? Because the new trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice just dropped, and- wait a second, we just said Beetlejuice three times. Four, now! Either way, it’s worked – Tim Burton’s long-awaited sequel is finally arriving later this year, and a brand new trailer not only gets the whole gang back together (Michael Keaton! Winona Ryder! Catherine O’Hara!), but gives us our best look yet at the newcomers too (Jenna Ortega! Monica Bellucci! Willem Dafoe! Justin Theroux!). All that, and it’s packed with visuals that hark back to Burton’s beloved original film, including stop-motion-styled effects and puppetry. It looks like one hell of a party:
The bio-exorcist is well and truly back – and for all the intervening decades, Michael Keaton looks to be fitting back into the Beetlejuice stripes with ease. It’s a joy, too, to see Ryder returning as...

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was in development hell for decades before it finally got made. In 1990, Jonathan Gems was hired to write a sequel that was going to be titled Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian. Burton considered having Daniel Waters rewrite that script, Pamela Norris did rewrite it, and Warner Bros. offered Kevin Smith the chance to do another rewrite. He turned it down. Seth Grahame-Smith was hired to write and produce a new version of a sequel in 2011. Mike Vukadinovich was brought on to rewrite his script in 2017.

We've seen a brief teaser for Tim Burton's Beetlejuice sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (oops), already, but Warner Bros. has now announced that the full trailer will be online tomorrow.
In the meantime, we have a new poster spotlighting Michael Keaton's returning Bio-Exorcist (well, most of him) alongside some new waiting room acquaintances.
This image is a callback to Betelgeuse's final scene from the first movie, which saw the mischievous Ghost with the Most banished to the Afterlife after falling foul of a sandworm.
There's been a lot of speculation that the sequel will begin with Betelgeuse still waiting to be seen all these years later, after attempting to jump the queue by stealing the witch doctor's ticket and getting his head shrunk for his trouble ("this could be a good look for me").
Check out the poster at the link below, and be sure to drop back on Thursday for the new trailer.

Paolo Sorrentino has done a wide range of films but until his most personal, The Hand of God two years ago (a prize winner in Venice), he had not returned to Naples, the land of his youth, except for the very first feature he made, 2001’s One Man Up. Since then though, he has been to Cannes with his films six times, and his impressive list of movies have included The Consequences of Love, Il Divo, Loro and his Oscar-winning The Great Beauty. There have been more mixed reactions for his starry English-language films like Youth and This Must Be the Place, but Italy seems to drive his creative mojo and may be closest to his heart in the current phase of his filmmaking career when he has found new inspiration by going back to his youth, first in Hand of God which closely reflected his own coming of age in Naples,...

Director Tim Burton’s 1988 classic Beetlejuice (watch it Here) ended with the title character sitting down in a waiting room, and it looked like he was going to be in there for a very long time. It’s fitting that we left him in that situation, given that fans have had to wait thirty-six years for the follow-up Beetlejuice Beetlejuice – but now the wait is almost over. The sequel is set to reach theatres on September 6th, and a newly unveiled teaser poster takes us back to that waiting room with Beetlejuice while acknowledging the long wait between films. Sometimes we can’t help but start binging the movies of a single genre one by one, having some sort of a marathon. And while I can relate to those who binge rom-coms because they’re sweet and innocent, it seems that horror nights are getting more popular among others.
For example, redditors quite often get together online to happily share their favorite horrors and discuss them. So here are three horror movies that are considered their all-time favorites.
1. Audition (1999)
Audition is a psychological horror film directed by Takashi Miike featuring Ryo Ishibashi and Eihi Shiina. The movie revolves around a hopeless widower who is trying to come back in the dating game again. With the help of his friend, he stages a phony audition to find a perfect girl for him. And so he thinks he does.

Rupert Everett landed in Turin, Italy, on Thursday to collect the Star of the Mole, the special award given by the National Cinema Museum to personalities who have left an indelible mark on the world of cinema and society. The award — a pink star — is presented during the Lovers Film Festival, Europe’s oldest gay festival (this is its 39th edition), directed by Vladimir Luxuria, who says that “Rupert Everett was one of the first international stars to come out and fight for civil rights.”
In accepting the honor, Everett joins a list of previous honorees that includes the likes of Oliver Stone, Tim Burton, Malcolm McDowell, Monica Bellucci and many others.
The British actor, who turns 65 on May 29, came out publicly in 1989, five years after he made an indelible impression as a double agent in Marek Kanievska’s drama Another Country. The film was an adaptation of Julien Mitchell...

Civil War is an extremely powerful, effective movie that thrusts you into the middle of an American civil war seen through the eyes of a war photographer. It’s brutal. It’s extraordinarily violent. The sound design is bordering on abusive. And if you watch it in IMAX you can reasonably expect to leave the theater with more than a little motion sickness. It is, however, excellent, with great performances from Kirsten Dunst as the older, jaded photographer and Cailee Spaeny as the reckless youngster new to the game. So see it. But we’d be very surprised if you decide to rush back for a second viewing.
Here’s our celebration of the wonderful, must-see movies where once is quite enough, thank you very much.

Most of the Beetlejuice cast from the 1988 film return for the 2024 sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Geena Davis is not one of them.
“No, I’m not. I’m not in the remake,” Geena, 68, told Entertainment Tonight on Thursday. “Oh, you were expecting that I would be? Yeah, no, you know what? Because my theory is that ghosts don’t age … Not that I have.”
In the original film, Davis appeared as ghost Barbara Maitland, who is seen by Winona Ryder’s character, Lydia Deetz.
“Our characters were stuck the way they looked when they died forever, so it’s been a while, it’s been a minute,” Davis said.
Davis has not seen the trailer for the sequel.
“I heard the trailer came out and somebody said they were crying, so I have to see the trailer,” she said.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, director Tim Burton’s long-awaited sequel to his 1988 classic Beetlejuice (watch it Here), is set to reach theatres on September 6th. Since this is one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year, it was, of course, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was promoted during the Warner Bros. panel at CinemaCon, the gathering of movie theater owners from around the world currently being held in Las Vegas.
During the Warner Bros. panel at CinemaCon, the crowd saw footage highlighting the film’s practical effects. JoBlo’s editor-in-chief, Chris Bumbray, says Beetlejuice Beetlejuice has more of the original’s style than the teaser trailer made it look. Keaton looks like the Ghost With the Most and hasn’t lost a step. WB showed more of what Keaton’s performance is like, and it’s fantastic!

The ghost with the most is back, baby, ready to wreak havoc on the Deetz family more than three decades after he first haunted their home. In Tim Burton's "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice," Michael Keaton's Beetlejuice returns to the big screen along with Catherine O'Hara's Delia Deetz and Winona Ryder's Lydia Deetz. They will be joined by "Wednesday" star Jenna Ortega as Astrid Deetz, Lydia's daughter, bringing three generations of gorgeous goth Deetz women to do battle against the supernatural huckster Beetlejuice. We've already seen a short teaser trailer for the film, which briefly shows the Deetz women at a funeral (possibly for the family patriarch, Charles, played by Jeffrey Jones, who fell out the limelight after a shocking arrest). There doesn't seem to be any sign of the Maitlands, the ghosts who haunted the attic in the original "Beetlejuice," but we'll just have to wait and see what...

Michael Keaton was blunt about what audiences can expect when “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” hits screens, more than 36 years after the first film opened.
“It’s really fucking good,” the actor told theater owners at CinemaCon. And based on the zany look at “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” that Keaton and Tim Burton shared, the collaborators have come up with something that could be out of this Netherworld. Burton, Keaton, and Catherine O’Hara, who co-starred in the original, took the stage at Caesars Palace on Tuesday for Warner Bros.’ presentation to theater owners to hype the sequel’s undead delights.
“I was very nervous to see if we could pull this off again,” Keaton admitted. “But every day just got better.”

As such, he was quickly joined by the film’s Michael Keaton, Catherine O’Hara, Willem Dafoe, Justin Theroux and Monica Bellucci. While opening up about her decades-long career, Carla Gugino shared that she still has “a little Ptsd” from being ignored by male directors on sets because she’s a woman.
During a recent conversation with Game of Thrones star Lena Headey for Interview magazine, the Gerald’s Game actress recalled some of her past experiences with directors.
“I had an instance recently where I needed to assert something important to me and I hesitated because I wondered if it would be perceived as demanding. The difference at this age is that I will just push myself to do it. Ultimately, it was received positively,” Gugino said. “I still do have a little Ptsd from a career full of instances where you’re acting with a male actor, and you say to the director, ‘Hey, what about if we try such and such?’ and the male director goes, ‘I don’t think so,...

Michael Keaton is back as the titular Ghost with the Most in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, director Tim Burton’s long-awaited sequel to his 1988 classic Beetlejuice (watch it Here). Winona Ryder is reprising the role of Lydia Deetz. Catherine O’Hara is back as Lydia’s stepmother Delia. But now The Hollywood Reporter has been able to confirm that Jeffrey Jones, who played Lydia’s father Charles in the original movie, is not in the sequel. Few fans expected him to be, as Jones hasn’t gotten a lot of screen acting jobs since 2003, when he pled no contest to “hiring a 14-year-old boy to pose naked for photos, for which he was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to register as a sex offender.” He has been in a few movies since then, but his most substantial job was on the TV series Deadwood. He appeared on 35 episodes of that show...

Before Robert Pattinson’s The Batman introduced Colin Farrell as the Penguin, DC fans got a much more terrifying take on the character by Danny DeVito. He is the exact reason why Pattinson finds Tim Burton’s 1992 film, Batman Returns, as one of the most disturbing things even now. Michael Keaton’s second Batman film was also one to take a dark turn as a DC superhero movie.
Robert Pattinson in and as The Batman
Pattinson followed in the footsteps of George Clooney, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck to play the latest iteration of Batman. James Gunn’s Dcu is set to introduce another Batman, a casting that has yet to be announced.

After an amazing 36 years, Tim Burton’s 1988 hit film Beetlejuice is finally getting a sequel, as Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (unofficially known as Beetlejuice 2) is going to be released on September 6, 2024 in theaters around the world. A sequel to the beloved movie starring Michael Keaton as the titular hero of the movie has been in the works since the late 1980s, but the original sequel, Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian, was never made, and the idea was scrapped until the early 2010s when talks of a sequel reemerged. This came as a sort of shock, since so much time had passed, and in 2022, the sequel was finally confirmed, with both Burton and Keaton returning. Today, the first official teaser trailer was released.
Beetlejuice was a critical and commercial hit when it came out, spanning numerous derivative works, including an extremely popular animated series. The film starred Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jones, Catherine O’Hara,...
