- Actually, every time I am back in New York, I read for as many plays as I can.
- Oh absolutely. I had the pleasure to get to know a lot of really talented young actors before they even really hit it big. And yet what we all had and shared in common was a love for movies.
- I did this role in Life Goes On as an HIV positive character and so emotionally that was the most challenging.
- I think each role has had different challenges.
- I think every actor should go back and do theater periodically.
- On acting and directing: They're both a lot of fun, honestly. They're very different. They occupy different sides of your brain, somehow. I think directing is a little more demanding. Certainly, it's a little more demanding than the schedule we have.
- I believe that the story is the most important element of any medium whether it's theater, film, TV.
- On his brother Rob Lowe leaving Brothers & Sisters (2006): I think that they really told the story of that character. I'm not so sure there was much more for him to do. And, I know the split was amicable. I know he loves his new job, and I think Brothers & Sisters will be just fine without him. It's a great show.
- On Pretty Little Liars (2010): I like that every character is dealing with conflict and there's a certain moral ambiguity.
- So ultimately I am looking for a story that has some value and is important and is entertaining.
