As the dawn of the new millennium approached, the world would start to see a trend of films that would become very mainstream. These types of movies are action horror video game adaptations. As stated in our previous video, there have been a number of different ones, but nothing stood out more than Resident Evil. In 2002, we were graced with the first in this series. It may not have been the critic’s favorite, but it did well enough at the box office to spawn a sequel. The name of that sequel is Resident Evil: Apocalypse (watch it Here). With a title that big, you would think the filmmakers went for bigger, better and more destructive…right? For the most part, yes and they even packed in some surprises for fans of the series. So today on Horror Revisited we ask that you suit up and strap in for Alice...

From its autumnal aesthetic to its haunted history, Massachusetts is always a great place to spend the Halloween season, but horror fans were particularly spoiled this year. In addition to the usual festivities in Salem and repertory programming at Boston theaters, we had no less than four horror conventions throughout the state in the span of two months: Silver Scream Con, Terror Con, MonstahXpo, and Hometown Haunts & Hops.
Many convention memories are made in hotel bars, so why not set one in a brewery? The inaugural Hometown Haunts & Hops took place at Mayflower Brewing in Plymouth on October 28, providing a fun environment on the unseasonably warm Saturday before Halloween. Curated by America’s Hometown Horror podcast and Inebri-Art, both based in Plymouth, the event is poised to become an annual occurrence.
Lively but low-key, Hometown Haunts & Hops is a refreshingly intimate alternative to the often overwhelming convention experience. There were no shortage of activities,...

Creators are putting “labor over likes” by refusing to cross picket lines during the writers’ strike
As the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) continue their respective strikes, a group of digital content creators is showing solidarity. The youth-oriented nonprofit Gen Z For Change is behind Labor Over Likes, an initiative for creators who refuse to cross picket lines.
Over 115 creators, who collectively reach more than 90 million followers, have signed the Labor Over Likes pledge. Notable signees include comedian Matt Taylor and interior designer Emily Shaw.
To live up to the Labor Over Likes pledge, creators must adhere to the strike guidelines shared by SAG-AFTRA at the onset of the actors’ work stoppage. That means no appearances on red carpets, no sponsorships or unpaid videos that boost struck companies, and no costumes that relate to programming on struck platforms.
When SAG-AFTRA initially shared those guidelines for digital-oriented members who have joined the guild (it...

Capcom's perennially popular survival horror video game franchise "Resident Evil" has been adapted for both film and television over the years, in live-action and animation. The franchise's cinematic debut began in 2002, loosely following the original game's plot of specialists investigating the nefarious pharmaceutical company the Umbrella Corporation. This leads to Umbrella unleashing the T-Virus, a genetically engineered virus that transforms those infected into ravenous, undead zombies.
While the live-action films have handled the video game source material with varying amounts of fidelity and controversy, there has also been a line of CG animated movies set in the same continuity as the games. Successful worldwide, the "Resident Evil" movies have earned their fair share of fans, including devotees of the games and those new to the franchise. With plenty of films to choose from across the original movie series, 2021 reboot, and animated features, here are the best "Resident Evil" films ranked from worst to best.

Mario Murillo had heard enough. The longtime Charismatic Christian preacher, who got his start ministering to Jesus hippies in Berkeley in the late 1960s, began 2023 by blasting a pair of “false prophets.”
The duo were already notorious for touting false visions of a Trump re-election. Kat Kerr, whose heavenly lewk is a candy-pink bob and an American-flag shawl, prophesied that Trump would “win in 2020, write it down, it’s going to happen.” Robin D. Bullock, whose aesthetic is more mystic-’80s-leather-rocker, insisted God had revealed to him Trump would win “in a landslide.

Netflix UK is removing one of its most acclaimed horrors after just two years on the service.
Each month, the streaming platform takes down a large quantity of titles due to licencing rights.
However, users were surprised to discover in September that the service was removing Hemlock Grove, one of its first ever series to be listed as a Netflix Original.
It sparked a discussion about the availability of the series after its departure, with many expressing concern over the future of other Netflix Originals.
It’s now been revealed that the next Original to be removed in the UK will be His House, the Bafta-winning horror from writer-director Remi Weekes.
But, it’s worth noting that, while it’s listed as an Original, the film was actually a co-production with BBC Films and New Regency, who were the financiers. After the film is removed on 29 October, it will have...

If you're up on your movie news for the morning you've probably read how FilmDistrict has already greenlit Insidious 3 with Leigh Whannell once again set to write the screenplay, but on top of that, director James Wan has given an interview saying Insidious: Chapter 2 will be his last horror film. Not a bad way to go out as the second chapter in the franchise holds the largest single day take for a September release and is also the second highest grossing September opener ever with $40.2 million. In second was Relativity's The Family dipping slightly below estimates to a round $14 million followed by Riddick, which dropped even harder than estimated, falling 64% from its opening weekend with a second week $6.8 million. Finally, of the films in the RopeofSilicon Box Office Challenge, Lionsgate's Instructions Not Included made $600,000 more than estimated, finishing the weekend with $4.8 million. Of note this weekend, Lee Daniels' The Butler,...
